The Different Sales Approach

What are the key steps to optimizing your technical sales customer journey?
Start from their pain. It's human nature to find a solution for your pain. Thus, if you don't understand why they're having a conversation with you then you will end up wasting each other's time. On top of that, it is essential to dig deep into the pain. And you shall never talk about your product until you have recognised the root of the pain. Not many people can achieve this well and sometimes it requires more than one touch point. You would have achieved an understanding of one major pain factor if you can get to the core of it.

How can you keep cold callers motivated during long rejections?
Reward them for hitting a high number of rejections. The number of rejections they get would be directly proportionate to the total number of calls made. Especially in call centre settings, the only way forward is more calls. When this is applied, the cold caller wins either way: 1) You make more calls and get more rejections (reward awaits). 2) You make more calls and increase chances for more sales conversions (reward awaits).

How can you build your confidence when presenting to a large audience?
To keep my nerves at bay I do either of these three things to make sure that I begin well: - Ask a series of questions that leads to your topic to get a feel of the audience. This allows me to warm up and break the ice. Just like running; you warm up first or you'll end up getting cramps. - Call it out. Say it as it is, "Guys, I'm an expert in this topic but I'm more comfortable behind a desk than in front of an audience". Or "This is my first presentation, so please be generous in your applause. They chase my nerves away." - Tell stories. Your stories. Or your favourite stories of other people. Things may get out of control if you try to memorize other people's stories.
