I’m heading off to CloudWorld Las Vegas with Oracle today. 🌴🍸☀️ In Singapore CloudWorld I interviewed Jae Sook Evans, CIO at Oracle and Christopher G. Chelliah Senior Vice President of Technology and Customer Strategy at Oracle. Oracle aims to simplify this transition without extensive rearchitecture. 💡Innovative Edge: Oracle is setting new standards with their security-centric cloud design, multi-cloud solutions, and the unique ability to run services directly in customers' data centers. 💡 Market Perception: Historically known for its databases, Oracle is now changing perceptions with OCI’s capabilities, offering a general-purpose cloud suited for diverse infrastructure-heavy workloads. 💡 Customer Engagement: Chris Chelliah agree that their needs to be a focus on the need to speak the language of new demographics and demonstrate real-world benefits. Their efforts include collaboration with sports tech and engaging with developer communities and educational institutions. 💡 AI and Data Management: The conversation highlighted Oracle's strategic position in AI infrastructure, particularly how Nvidia leverages OCI for its GPU clusters due to OCI’s speed and efficiency. 🤝 Customer-Centric Approach: Jae Evans discussed the importance of meeting customer needs through continuous feedback, focusing on security, reliability, and functionality to maintain loyalty. Oracle executive vice president of applications development, Rondy Ng, has announced that the company has been introducing generative AI abilities into its cloud infrastructure and applications. The classic AI is already very good in terms of detecting patterns or predicting numbers. But you cannot use large language models to predict numbers. So we combined the predictive numbering capability with the explained ability in words. The two together become very powerful and you need both. Oracle has announced additional generative AI features embedded across applications in finance, supply chain, human resources, sales, marketing, and service. The generative AI capabilities can perform tasks such as generating financial reports and drafting job ads, improving productivity and reducing business costs."
