The Minister of National Defense, Wellington Koo, stated that if Chinese military ships encroach into restricted waters near Kinmen County, existing contingency measures would be implemented. China Coast Guard vessels have increased activity in prohibited waters around Kinmen to establish a new normal, but the armed forces have been monitoring their movements. If a Chinese PLA Navy vessel crosses into prohibited territory, it would also be dealt with as a contingency. It is reported that DJI may be included in the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) list of companies whose equipment poses national security risks due to the Anti-Chinese Drone Act. If this bill is passed in the future, DJI's business development in the United States may face stagnation. 2. April 28 News Recently, Taiwanese back-end chip testing company KYEC announced the sale of its subsidiary Jinglong Technology (Jinglong Technology) in mainland China and its withdrawal from the semiconductor manufacturing business in mainland China. 3. QLC SSD shipments will increase fourfold in 2024, but there are only a few suppliers. According to TrendForce data, as energy efficiency becomes the top priority for artificial intelligence inference servers, North American customers are increasing orders for storage products. This, in turn, is driving demand for QLC enterprise-grade SSDs. Currently, only Solidigm and Samsung have certified QLC products, with Solidigm actively promoting its QLC products and set to benefit the most from the surge in demand. 4. NXP is firmly investing in the Chinese market and actively seeking cooperation and innovation. NXP reiterates its firm commitment to the Chinese market and is ready to enrich its products, technological innovation, and distribution system. 5. MediaTek estimates that mobile phone chip revenue will grow by 50% this year, all thanks to Dimensity 9300. Boustead Heavy Industries Corp Bhd’s (BHIC) wholly-owned subsidiary, BHIC Submarine Engineering Services Sdn Bhd (BSES), has bagged an award from the Malaysian Ministry of Defence (Mindef), representing the government, to award the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) Prime Minister Class Submarines contract worth RM43.60 million. The contract will contribute positively to the earnings of the BHIC Group for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2024. The contract entails the expansion of the scope of work and additional contract ceiling price for the in-service support interim for the RMN submarines. A formal contract between the government and BSES will be finalised and executed at a later date. Prime Minister-class is a Scorpène-class submarine built for the Royal Malaysian Navy by Naval Group, formerly known as DCNS in Cherbourg, France and Navantia in Cartagena, Spain. In 2002, Malaysia ordered two Scorpène-class boats worth €1.04 billion (about RM4.78 billion). Both boats Tunku Abdul Rahman and Tun Abdul Razak commissioned by Royal Malaysian Navy in 2009. The Scorpène-class submarines are a class of diesel-electric attack submarines jointly developed by the French Naval Group (formerly the DCNS) and the Spanish company Navantia. It features diesel propulsion and an additional air-independent propulsion (AIP).
