Inundated with Leadership lessons and eye opening deep insights on core values such as 🙄  " Process matters and Outcome will follow" . Kudos to Rohit , Kudos to Virat , Rahul et al for selfless displays/ NOW - Ask yourself the question -  if SKY was taking that catch and was 1 inch the other side – would the insights on core values be the same. (I'm asking the preach on Core values once again not on analysis of win/loss). Would we instead have seen posts of core values such as – when will we build a performance culture like OZ. When will we learn that team matters more than individual as the core fabric of team sports DNA et al. Moral of the story- you still need outcome to be able to give deep rooted management insights like "process not outcome matters".  The inconsistency in many value based preach is laid bare even more in sports as the outcome is a simple black and white (win or lose ) and no middle ground there especially in tournaments played for trophy.  The key litmus test for the authenticity of those value preaches would be when those values are celebrated during failures and not preached during wins. The first time I heard the term generative AI was in a chat with Anand Chandrasekaran , a friend and an investor in BabyChakra | Good Glamm Group a few years ago. I remember asking a million questions in that chat. With a technology as foundational & disruptive (Sequoia Capital has actually comped it to electricity), I have been curiously unpacking contours since. I shared some in my chat with the fab Shruti Mishra of CNBC-TV18 in a more broad based discussion on Tech Entrepreneurs Association of Mumbai (TEAM) and #womenintech. But 2 thoughts in some detail. 1. ‘Bias Immortality’: With the training modules and historic data being consumed by LLM’s a lot of biases we are working hard to extinguish may find immortality. Eg: in Jeremy Kahn’s book Mastering AI, he refers to the subtle power of AI biases due to the data being fed that leads to shaping of user opinion. His example of an AI healthcare assistant falsely believing that black people have thicker skin or higher pain thresholds. 2 examples of where I forsee and term ‘bias immortality’ are women’s health & funding. The lack of research in women’s health and drug development for women’s physiology creates a potential bias in healthcare on male oriented research forming the bedrock for training models and in turn influencing research / pattern recognition for potential blockbuster drug development . Similarly funding going largely to men in the past and hence identifying past patterns of success in Banking , Venture leading to continued underfunding of newer diverse entrepreneurs esp Women. 2. Training ‘Models of the Mind’: Search & Social as interfaces for us to interact with the digital world were great and problematic in equal measure. As a child of the era of Google , Meta, we debated ad nauseum the impact on privacy, data, potential monopolistic businesses and social dopamine & amygdala hits. A paradigm led with superb AI assistants such as Chat GPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini will lead to a but natural shift to these interfaces rapidly: I love Copilot myself. But a question to ask is does this exacerbate an echo chamber of ours. Do these models have the capacity & capability to challenge & are they motivated to debate us. If unchecked, these run risk of being what I term ‘models of the mind’: ie. Have unparalleled influence on opinions, motivations, actions. In social, a few counter points slip in . In fact algos often prioritise debate to boost virality due to the Monetization alignment. With AI assistants , the current Monetization model with subs focus on 1 primary Monetization model : your eyeballs & your money. The model shifts from you as product to product for you. With your retention key, does this entail us being exposed to a non combative interface because it needs our business. I am a big believer in #AI: an AI optimist: it’s an important time as we lay the building blocks on how we shape future narrative. How to do it right is the question.

With Indian election results on its way, discussions have been ensuing in many closed forums. In a forum of MBA classmates, opinions have now started pouring in on why BJP is not doing as well as expected. Of the many reasons that were highlighted (and I expect more to originate as the day progresses), one that stuck with me was - *Overconfidence*. Overconfidence of BJP leaders & strategists, etc, etc. Overconfidence is an interesting trait, so my question to the group was "How does one identify overconfidence in oneself"? A person who thinks s/he is confident may be looked at as overconfident by others. So as leaders, how do we know when we are overconfident as against just confident (gut feel, know-for-sure)? The question is for any individual and definitely for a leader to identify overconfidence vs confidence. I gave the example of Walt Disney, Steve Jobs (and many other founders) who were thought to be overconfident but those decisions worked in favor of their companies. So one individual suggested that a good leader "hears out" their team before a decision (sort of democracy) is taken. Which led to another question - Is democratic decision leadership just to avoid overconfidence? A leader may decide on a strategic direction for the company through a democratic process BUT if the decision was wrong that led to gradual demise of the company, the same employees would be losing their job and in some cases those employees may never get another job. So while good in the short term, being democratic worked "against" everyone' interest. Jobs and Disney how much ever bad it seems, never had to let go of their employees due to bad decision taken democratically. So my question still remains - How does one identify that they themselves are being overconfident as against just being confident? It is important to remember that when we are overconfident, we dismiss / ignore others' opinion. So when do we know for sure we are absolutely right about the future state and yet knowing that it is not overconfidence owing to some past wins. Please share your thoughts, tricks, self-assessment for anyone to measure their confidence scale :)

Dash Dhakshinamoorthy Vani Mahadevan and team are bringing Professor Saras Sarasvathy to do sharing in Malaysia. Prof Sarasvathy studied in depth on entrepreneurs, and she wrote on a paper of what makes entrepreneurs entrepreneurial. Concept of Effectual Reasoning is shared by Prof Sarasvathy. Embracing Purpose Beyond the Dinner Table 🍽️ Last night, I had the privilege of attending a delightful dinner hosted by my friend, Krishna Kommineni, alongside some of his friends. - Masthanaiah Veluru and Umesh Devangam What started as a casual evening of laughter and conversation soon turned into something much more meaningful when we realized we all share a common bond—our respect for Wipro and its incredible working culture. Reflecting on my journey at Wipro, I’m reminded of how deeply it has shaped both my professional and personal life. The lessons and experiences I gained there have been invaluable in defining my Personal Social Responsibility (PSR), i.e., MuliaSmarak ମୂଳିଆସ୍ମାରକ inspired by the visionary leadership of Mr. Azim Premji, Wipro’s founder and one of the world’s most revered philanthropists. Anirudh Devgan : AI is in the phase 1 of infrastructure and phase 2 of AI in existing application, 3rd phase is AI new application. Cadence is engaging phase 1 by enabling AI Chips, and phase 2 which drive design automation. 3DIC is natural extension of Moore's law. Optimistic about power, as new Innovation along the way will bend the straight line projection usually seen in the early inning of technology like AI. Real value realization will mostly be vertical based, not the horizontal LLM. AI will move from infrastructure AI, physical AI(automotive, robotics) to the horizon 3, that is likely AI biggest apps such as AI for science, particularly life science Sandra Rivera : AI impact is multi facets. First it is a TAM expansion for FPGA, which is needed as co-accelerator. AI is also embedded in placement tool and in even in basic fabrics, which will be making FPGA better. Power is the single Largest limiter for AI deployment. Also, Should AI be better regulated than what happened in social media, leading to the data security and privacy. Tien Wu : AI has driven ASE to increase capex to 4B This year from 2B last year due to systematic complexity, not just technology but the more players in ecosystem, which breaks the traditional pricing.
