As a participant in the Tertiary Student Project Category, I had privilege of attending the NAS-IT Awards 2024 Grand Finale (Nepal Association for Software and IT Services Companies (NAS-IT)), where a panel discussion on the unfolding industry of IT in Nepal threw much light on this important aspect. The key takeaways were both inspiring and enlightening: Nepal: Undiscovered Gem for Technology Innovation - The panelists underlined that Nepal can be turned into a global tech hub, emphasizing especially the hidden talent and innovative spirit the country possesses. Beyond Traditional Sectors - While Nepal is mostly known for tourism and agriculture, the discussion pointed out that the IT industry can be a strong driver for the country's development. Going Global - Nepali tech companies are also becoming increasingly interested in crossing the borders to be able to have competitions in the global technology scenario and bring out the peculiarities of Nepali ingenuity. Sectoral Competency - The discussion identified those areas in which Nepal will hold a competitive edge in the technology sector. Gaps to be addressed - A frank discussion on the problems faced by the IT industry in Nepal threw up a number of areas for improvement and growth. Education Reform - The need to move towards practical methodologies at the university level to help students transition into the professional world of technology was an important suggestion.

🚀 Analyzing Samsung's Marketing Strategies in Sri Lanka - Statistics for Computing Project 📊 As part of our Statistics for Computing module at the National Institute of Business Management (NIBM), my team and I conducted a comprehensive analysis of how Samsung’s marketing strategies have impacted business performance in Sri Lanka's mobile phone market. Our project specifically focused on key marketing elements such as advertising, pricing, product positioning, and distribution, and their effects on Samsung’s market share, sales volume, and profitability. Using both primary and secondary data, gathered via an online survey (Google Forms), we assessed the effectiveness of these strategies in influencing consumer behavior and brand satisfaction within Sri Lanka.
