[Gen Z in Workplace: Bridging Generational Gap] As more and more Gen Zs are breaching the working industry, workplaces have experienced changes over the years. One of the most prominent is how Gen Zs have acted as the bridge in workplace intergenerational teamwork. With the rapid evolution of technology and media, Gen Zs must have been familiar with handling social media exposure, as they are the ones that are the most exposed to the existence of social media itself. Hence, I can lead a team in building social media branding. Not only that, when talking about mental health awareness, Gen Zs have also shown the importance of taking care of mental well-being in a work setting. This comes in examples like having Mental Health Days and creating dialogues when they struggle at work. Both of these points show how Gen Zs can contribute in a workplace setting, with their knowledge, skills, and awareness that might have just grown within their generation. It is definitely a privilege to be able to experience the advanced technologies we have and gain information from greater sources. Taking actions such as contributing to digital transformation, promoting mental wellness, driving creative marketing strategies at work, and so much more, can show Gen Zs wide range of ability. Hence, it is time to make a positive contribution to the working industry, to create a healthy and innovative workplace, especially in the ASEAN region. 3000 bottles of IV paracetamol per year— that's what is saved now every year at Changi General Hospital, without comprimising patient wellbeing. 🏥 ✨🌏 Dr Jo Yeo and her team identified a problem, found a solution and implemented it. The shift from IV to oral paracetamol might seem trivial, but it's a prime example of #SustainableHealthcareStories that are good for the three Ps : patients, planet, and prosperity. The hospital now saves money, and the OT emissions related to paracetamol have dropped by close to 50% without comprimising patient wellbeing or health outcomes. It's a win-win-win. 🇻🇳 This morning at #GHAC2024 in Hai Phong in Vietnam we launched, in partnership with the SingHealth Changi General Hospital, the first of our series on #SustainableHealthcareStories, and we are quite thrilled about it. 📢 Like Prof Nick Watts said last night at the plenary: "The best examples of responses to climate change I've seen haven't started in a university, they haven't started in a health ministry. It's one clinician recognising a problem and deciding they can do something about it. They make a change and day one goes by, day two, then weeks and months and soon a whole way of doing things is completely transformed. The Singapore Government announced new guidelines requiring employers to have formal processes for employees to request flexible work arrangements (FWA) from 1 Dec 2024 onwards. This development signals Singapore’s acknowledgement that FWAs is the new norm in the post COVID world. Many companies are understandably concerned that allowing FWAs for employees will lead to a loss of productivity, given increased friction for collaboration arising from the varied work hours/location of employees. However, MNCs already have processes to manage employees working across different locations/time zones due to their global presence. These processes could easily be adapted to cater to FWAs in Singapore. If Singaporean companies aspire to be world class MNCs, adopting such processes is not a matter of if, but rather when. Furthermore, companies risk losing in the war for talent if they do not give employees the option to have FWAs. This has been shown in a 2022 Randstad survey, which indicated that 2 in 5 workers in Singapore would not accept a job if they are unable to work remotely or have flexible hours. Rather than focus on the perceived loss of productivity, companies should rather focus on ensuring that: 1. Formalized HR processes are in place to meaningfully address employee requests for FWAs 2. Employee assessments are focused on their measurable outcomes, as opposed to the number of hours put in to deliver the outcome 3. Managers are trained to regularly and effectively engage employees in a way that fosters trust while getting updates on work progress

Singapore's economic landscape is growing in a positive manner and here are some economic facts that proves the quality of the nation. Steady GDP Growth: Our economy is set to grow between 1% and 3%, indicating resilience amid global challenges. The first quarter alone showed a 2.7% increase from last year. Inflation Trends: With headline inflation projected at 3.4% and core inflation around 4%, we can expect a relatively stable environment for business operations. Labor Market Dynamics: Employment remains  strong with around 4 million employed, supported by growth in domestic services and travel sectors.  While wage growth may slow, sectors like finance continue to offer high compensation. Sector Highlights: Manufacturing: An impressive 7.1% increase in output in April reflects robust industrial activity. Tourism: The sector is rebounding with 1.36 million visitors in April, driving growth in related industries. Population and Workforce: Our population stands at 5.92 million as of mid-2023, fostering a diverse and dynamic market. This is the best time to be present in the Singapore market and I am fortunate to be present in this era of significant growth. These numbers are indicators of a strong economy and also showcases potential opportunities for new businesses. Suspended CEO says TMC Life Sciences trying to ‘pin blame’ on her over certain contract issues. The company’s two largest shareholders — Sasteria (M) Pte Ltd (owned by Singapore tycoon Peter Lim) and the Regent of Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim — earlier this month calling for an EGM to remove Wan Nadiah as its group CEO as well as a director. TMC Life Sciences' 1Q net profit plunges 81% due to contract, discount cuts. “I cannot be held responsible for matters that are beyond my knowledge and for matters for which I have been kept in the dark about. Ultimately, if matters are not escalated to my level or if my subordinates fail to perform their duties, then I cannot be held solely responsible for these matters.
