The Power of Data “From Analytics to Artificial Intelligence”: Be an AI-entrepreneur (AIe)   Artificial intelligence (AI) is a set of technologies that enable computers to perform a variety of advanced functions, including the ability to see, understand and translate spoken and written language, analyze data, make recommendations, and more. Meanwhile, an entrepreneur is an individual who creates a new business, bearing most of the risks and enjoying most of the rewards. On the other hand, an individual with an entrepreneurial mindset is a state of mind characterized to be innovative, resilient, visionary, and persistent in the pursuit of turning ideas into reality. It's an attitude that embraces risk, seeks out solutions, and is driven by a passion for creating value and making a positive impact on the world. Research findings: 1 in 5 Malaysians use AI daily or frequently at work, particularly Gen Zers (36%) and Millennials (24%). 42% of Gen Xers and 73% of Baby Boomers have never used AI in their work. 1 in 3 Malaysians have never used AI at work, while another 10% of respondents have only used AI tools once, showing a significant exposure gap in AI skill development in Malaysia. Did you know? (I love this phrase, my friends don't so much 😅) Singapore's GDP per capita in 2021 had 'an astonishing 14,458% growth rate over the past 5️⃣6️⃣ years.' As the island is without any natural resources and with a birth rate of 1,12 children per mother (2021) the immigration of skilled professionals is a priority for their government to fuel their economy. And the numbers show it works long-term. To complete the picture, I asked Perplexity to compare the current net migration rates in 🇸🇬Singapore and the 🇨🇿Czech Republic. ▪︎AI used the data of the World Factbook and the World Bank. ▪︎The current net migration rate for 🇸🇬 is 4.2 per 1000 inhabitants and for 🇨🇿 where it's 3.3 per 1000 inhabitants. ▪︎🇸🇬Singapore has 1/2 of its inhabitants than the 🇨🇿Czech Republic. ▪︎In 2023 the GDP per capita in 🇸🇬 is $65,422.46 USD vs. $19,800.28 USD in 🇨🇿. That's is 3x more (source tradingeconomics.com). As someone who works in the #GlobalMobility of employees and follows politics, I believe it's important to share more positive examples like this rather than hates and extremist acts of few, which regularly fill the news headlines. It's a good thing to create a decent environment and welcome professionals from abroad in our countries. We don't need to reinvent the wheel, we can get inspired mutually and find a way that works for us, for our economy, and for our future without environmental, economic, and social horrors. Something fascinating is happening in Singapore's workplace dialogue. Two recent surveys tell vastly different stories about the future of work- While Robert Walters found 70% of employers view 4-day workweeks as feasible, SNEF's latest data shows only 5% ready to implement it now. The gap between what seems possible and what organizations are ready to implement reflects the complex challenge of balancing innovation with practicality. Employees are overwhelmingly enthusiastic, with 93% eager to embrace shorter workweeks. Yet many employers remain cautious, concerned about maintaining operational excellence and productivity. Both perspectives are valid – and therein lies our opportunity. Perhaps we're limiting ourselves by focusing solely on 4-day workweeks. In today's competitive talent landscape, the winners won't be those who simply follow trends, but those who thoughtfully design workplace cultures that enhance both productivity and personal fulfillment. It's not about choosing between business success and employee satisfaction – it's about innovating ways to achieve both. Despite having two chats with very different starting points—one on fostering delivery partnerships through co:grow and one on potential project discovery—I walked out of both conversations with the same sense of excitement and renewed energy. What both conversations had in common was the fundamental belief that the People function plays a critical role in talent sustainability and innovation, and we are all finding our path to support those journeys.
