From an early age in Brazil I always wanted to learn skills that could be applied in the real world. This was why school was especially challenging for me. It felt like nothing I was being taught would prepare me for the real world. I usually went to my father’s small wood floor shop after school where I witnessed skills like finance, customer service, sales, and marketing being applied.
I got the opportunity to apply these skills myself and make a business deal when I was 12 years old. Our school had a sports competition, and my class did not have a uniform to compete in. I took the initiative to pick up the yellow pages and every day I called several sports company brands to ask for sponsorship for my class. There were many rejections, so I decided to improve my message by explaining the benefits of sponsoring a school team.
Thanks to polishing my pitch I was able to land a partnership with Umbro - which was also the sponsor of a Brazilian pro soccer team at that time. That was the moment I realised that you should not wait or expect anything to be handed to you and always go for the challenge that others say is impossible.
I designed a career where I could create future-ready organisations by optimizing technology, business development, sales, and customer operations. My skillset and adaptability have taken me across APAC, EMEA, AMER, and LATAM working for innovators including Google, AWS, and Ooredo. I have cultivated partnerships with leading organisations such as CDP, Kellanova, Tetra Pak, Google, AWS, Microsoft, Oracle, Banyan Group, Verdantix, IDC, Mediacorp, Mitsubishi, and many others.
Another passion I have had my entire life is for sustainability and the environment. My grandmother was a farmer in Brazil and I was raised to be attached to the land and understand how climate works. As I matured, I started noticing the negative impacts of climate change such as flooding and pollution in Sao Paulo and around the world. Something in my soul was driving me to do my part, to do more.
This is why I now work at Terrascope as Chief Customer and Commercial Officer. I get to drive a worthy cause and truly impact ESG. Terrascope's mission is to empower enterprises to keep the planet habitable for all. Because carbon measurement and management is a VERY difficult task, our team of diverse, purpose-driven individuals manage the complexity of carbon measurement and abatement, collaborate seamlessly between teams and with external partners, and share trusted data with stakeholders.
