This morning, @evanashapiro participated in a panel at #Epoch #Singapore alongside the heads of Worldcoin and Scroll invited by A41, one of Korea's top validators. My key takeaways are: 1/ The infrastructure for ZKPs has advanced significantly, and we are now entering the era of commercialization for ZKPs. 2/ The market’s understanding of ZKPs is evolving beyond scalability, with growing experiments on consumer-facing applications like anonymous proofs and attestation platforms. 3/ ZKPs not only connect Web2 data to blockchain but will increasingly serve as verifier solutions for the digital future, with applications in zkML, on-chain voting, proof of personhood for AI agents on chain, and beyond blockchain. 4/ @MinaProtocol remains a leader in accelerating the consumer side of ZKPs (zkApps), a road not taken

During TOKEN2049 in Singapore, I decided to test various payment methods. Here’s a quick breakdown of what I discovered (in SGD/MYR): 𝗢𝗻-𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: 𝟭. 𝗦𝗚𝗤𝗥 𝘃𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝘆𝗡𝗼𝘄𝗤𝗥: Many merchants are unaware of the differences between SGQR and PayNowQR, while smooth for locals but challenging for foreigners whose national QR systems only integrate with PayNowQR. 𝟮. 𝗺𝗦𝗠𝗘𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗤𝗥 𝗣𝗮𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: It’s common to see small merchants move away from Visa/Mastercard, favoring cash or QR payments. Even those with EDC terminals often only accept NETS cards. 𝟯. 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗤𝗥 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: I’ve used just S$10 in cash over 4 days!
