The textile industry is known for its environmental challenges, particularly in water and chemical use. Traditional dyeing processes contribute to about 20% of global water pollution. Xefco, in collaboration with the Institute for Frontier Materials, Deakin University, has introduced Ausora technology - an advanced, waterless dyeing method. Using plasma-enhanced coating, Ausora drastically reduces chemical use by 97%, eliminates water discharge, and lowers energy consumption by 90%. This innovation promises a cleaner future for textiles, offering durable, eco-friendly color that works across various fabrics. Five 2024 The Earthshot Prize Winners were announced at a star-studded awards ceremony in Cape Town, South Africa, hosted by Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Award winner Billy Porter and award-winning television presenter Bonang Matheba.
