Hello fellow Cyber Warriors. I am referring to us all, because from one perspective, in today's world, we need to be a cyber warrior to defend, fight and defeat the threats. Phishing & Ransomware attacks are rising, both globally and in Singapore. Both of these represent the top 2 threats in our cyber landscape. Recognising these major trends, we started RAYN Secure in January 2023, to bring 3 main services to the business landscape, specifically to the SME sector. 1) Help organisations attain Cyber Mark certifications; 2) Help organisation raise the overall cyber awareness levels of all staff; 3) Perform CISOaaS / DPOaaS roles for organisations who dont have the resources to handle these roles in-house. We are Cyber Trust Mark Tier 2 certified. We are listed on the Cyber Security Agency and IMDA websites as an approved service provider. We have helped organisations of varying sizes: sub-20 employees/endpoints to 1000+ employees/endpoints in their journeys to implement measures related to Cyber Essentials Mark, Cyber Trust Mark, Data Protection Essentials. We have now expanded our scope to include those organisations which come under the umbrella of MSF and MOH, which needs to meet specific Data Security requirements. If you feel like you need to take action, connect with us for a discussion. Meantime - work safe, play safe in the digital world. It's not if, but when will one of us become a victim. https://raynsecure.com

I'm genuinely shocked that in 2023, according to a Channel New Asia article, Android mobile users we scammed out of SGD34.1M through 1,899 malware scams.See below. Here are a few things I found intriguing: a) Most of the scams were carried through Facebook, Instagram & WhatsApp. b) Curiously, 43.7% of the victims were aged 30-49, not the demographic you'd expect would be scammed. c) Victims are deceived into installing malicious apps or clicking on ads asking for payments. d) No mention of iPhones? After all, the apps scammers used run on iPhones as well. I'm sharing this to raise awareness - beware of clicking on any link you receive, especially one asking you to download and install apps or links asking you to pay or send money, even if it looks like it's from someone you know. Double check with them before clicking. To those who hold personally identifiable data, please, please do the necessary to protect that data from hackers. The data you hold is a treasure trove for scammers who want nothing more than to scam your clients, customers, donors, etc.
Nearly 2,000 victims fell for Android malware scams, at least S$34.1 million lost in 2023

Keep well, all celebrants and the many more who have support us through our journey in 2023. Please continue to stay vigilant throughout the festive period as you wind down for the year end. Malicious actors like to take advantage of this period to exploit potential cybersecurity vulnerabilities brought about by people who may just momentarily let their guard down. Remember - Most data breach cases in Singapore involve the HUMAN element.
