🛫 ⛽ Sustainable Aviation Fuel (#SAF) is one of the key present-day solutions with the ability to enable and accelerate the #decarbonisation of the #aviation industry. To accelerate the sector’s decarbonisation efforts, GenZero is excited to be part of a global consortium of #growth investors alongside Carbon Direct Capital, Lightrock and Kibo Invest, to infuse Velocys with US$40 million of growth capital. Velocys is a #technology company whose patented catalyst and micro-channel reactor platform provides a scalable, flexible solution particularly suitable for projects that produce SAF. Its Fischer-Tropsch technology is compatible with multiple project types employing diverse #feedstocks, including municipal solid waste, woody #biomass, and #CO2 & #green #hydrogen, and has demonstrated performance at commercial scale.   The funds will be used to accelerate the delivery of Velocys’ proprietary technology to customer projects globally whilst further building its technology leadership, scaling its production capabilities, and enhancing the team’s expertise. The Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Singapore, Lord Sarfraz, was in Singapore this week meeting with business leaders to deepen existing collaboration and kick-off new initiatives, with a strong focus on the green economy and promoting UK investment opportunities. During the visit, Lord Sarfraz: 🚢 Launched British Chamber of Commerce Singapore (BritCham)'s inaugural Green Maritime Working Group with a group of key stakeholders to discuss how business and government can work together to advance future fuel adoption and green skills in the maritime industry – a key ambition under the UK-Singapore Green Economy Framework (#UKSGEF). ♻️At an event celebrating UK advisory firm ERM’s expansion of their SEA hub in Singapore supported by Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) highlighted how this new partnership brings the UK-Singapore Green Economy Framework to life, particularly around green skills in low carbon energy. ⚡ Engaged with industry to spur UK-Singapore collaboration on grids and interconnectors and met with local investors, including Kibo Invest and GenZero to discuss investment opportunities in green technology from the UK. ✈️ Visited the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore and NATS at Changi Airport's Digital Tower Smart Tower Prototype (STP), as well as to meet with Aurrigo to celebrate the announcement of an exciting new phase of deployment of their autonomous baggage handling solutions at Changi Airport 🛡️ Spoke with Security Association Singapore President and Nominated Member of Parliament, Raj Joshua Thomas on artificial intelligence and private security, and potential areas of collaboration between industries in Singapore and the UK. #UKSGStrategicPartnership #BergeBulk
