Getting confirmations in “black and white” is second nature to most of us. But in Indonesia, no news might actually be good news – especially for tax appeal cases! If the Directorate General of Taxation doesn’t respond in time within 12 months, your objection petition is deemed granted. ✅ With Singapore being a popular head office location, professionals have a pivotal role in helping navigate the intricate regional tax landscape. This article shares insights into Indonesia and Malaysia's tax system and appeal process to better manage strategies, ensuring compliance, and mitigating risks. 🔗 Read more on CA Lab: https://lnkd.in/g6dwSUf4 #ISCA #TaxStrategies #TaxCompliance #TaxProfessionals #CALab Pauline Chee | Jacqueline Lui | Terence Lam

“Being a #CASingapore has helped me find my calling. After polytechnic, I took up the challenge of taking accounting papers. To my surprise, I passed all five Accounting Level 1 papers within six months. I decided to continue with Level 2 and 3 and completed the course within 2.5 years! 📚 During my time as an accountant, I became acquainted with Enterprise Resource Planning solutions such as Oracle and Peoplesoft. My passion for 💻 software implementation grew quickly, and I began my journey as a Business and Application Consultant, progressed through various roles and eventually became a Managing Director at a Fujitsu Subsidiary. After nine years at Fujitsu, I was retrenched during the Global Financial Crisis. It was a very stressful time. It was then that I decided to pivot, using my knowledge and skills gained from accounting to identify gaps in the market. Through working with my clients, I realised that all of them needed more dynamic business solutions to meet their operational needs. This insight sparked the founding of Xintesys, where we focus on enhancing the accounting and operational aspects of businesses — an area where my accounting background truly gave me an edge as an accelerator to succeed in entrepreneurism and other associated skillsets. 🌟 Together with my team, we are now developing a platform to automate how we engage with clients and employees, enabling us to focus on creating job opportunities for people from all walks of life, especially those balancing family, studies, and work.” --Ruxin Shi, CA (Singapore), Founder, Xintesys 🚀 Join us as a member to propel your career and realise your #accountancy dreams: https://lnkd.in/gKJN44Am #ISCA #DifferenceMakers #Accounting #OurISCACommunity #CharteredAccountantsinthemaking #SCAQProgramme #SCAQ #DiverseCareers #CharteredAccountantOfSingapore #CASingapore

🌟 The ED includes proposals to update International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)19 (a new reduced-disclosure framework for eligible entities) with reduced disclosure requirements for new or amended IFRS versions that are issued between 28 February 2021 and 1 May 2024, namely IFRS 18, IAS 7, IAS 12 and IAS 21. We are supportive of this approach of updating IFRS 19 by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). ✍️ We note the IASB’s decision of not including disclosure objectives in IFRS 19 is to avoid the perception that entities are required to provide same disclosures as when they have not applied IFRS 19. However, the absence of overall disclosure objectives may result in entities perceiving the disclosure requirements in IFRS 19 as a checklist. 📝 Hence, we recommend the IASB to include the guiding principles in paragraph BC 33 of IFRS 19 to explain the rationale behind the disclosure requirements, aiding in better understanding of their context. 🔗 Read full comment letter here: https://lnkd.in/gW5rBUJV #ISCA #DifferenceMakers #Accounting #Accountancy #Finance #FinancialStatements Terence Lam | Alice Tan | Jezz Chew | Shi Zhen Ng | Donaphan Boey | Wang Zhumei | Felicia Tay
