We recently concluded the HTX Annual Cycle 2024, and what a memorable ride it was! The event kicked off with a bicycle workshop where participants picked up essential tips to keep their rides in peak condition. This set the stage for an exciting 7-day challenge, where participants clocked distances at their own pace—staying active while building stronger connections along the way. This year’s Annual Cycle was particularly special, serving as a prelude to our 5th Anniversary celebrations. Adding to the excitement were the amazing prizes up for grabs. With five finisher milestones to achieve, participants were motivated to pedal harder as each milestone unlocked even more attractive rewards. Ever heard of a plate-cutting ceremony? It’s the shipbuilding equivalent of a ribbon-cutting ceremony! While ribbon-cutting ceremonies mark the opening of new stores or buildings, a plate-cutting ceremony celebrates the beginning of a ship’s construction. On 25 November 2024, the plate-cutting ceremony for the next-generation Firefighting (FiFi) Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) marked the official start of its construction. Developed by HTX’s Robotics, Automation & Unmanned Systems Centre of Expertise in collaboration with ST Engineering, the next-generation FiFi USV aims to boost the Singapore Civil Defence Force’s autonomous maritime firefighting and emergency response capabilities. Last Friday, HTX celebrated its 5th anniversary with not one, but two events! In the morning, Xponents participated in a symbolic "dash" to HQ from eight satellite offices, mirroring how HTX was first formed in 2019 by bringing together talents from the various Home Team Departments and the Ministry of Home Affairs Singapore. Later, over 1,500 Xponents gathered at Marina Bay Sands for a fun-filled dinner and dance themed "Hands Across HTX". The event highlighted our journey in enhancing Singapore's safety and security, as well as showcased the many innovations we have developed to exponentially empower the Home Team over the last five years. We’d like to extend a big THANK YOU to all Xponents, partners and stakeholders--we wouldn’t have reached this milestone without your support.
