  • Great work Que Chi Nguyen! It’s fantastic to witness how a #veNTUre project with National Healthcare Group can contribute meaningfully to the broader healthcare landscape.   We would love to see more of such stories come out from industry collaboration projects – to our industry partners, reach out to us today to explore more collaboration opportunities with NTU CAO!

Day 1 of the Singapore Health and Biomedical Congress was an exploration of ideas—both inspiring and thought-provoking. I had the opportunity to facilitate the Poster Village, where one of my interns Que Chi Nguyen from NTU presented our research on the economic impact and cost-effectiveness of workplace health interventions. The rigor and detail behind these findings remind me how data can shape real-world change in public health systems. What resonates most for me is seeing emerging researchers engage with complex problems, unraveling the layers to find deeper insights. On a personal note, I contributed a poem titled "The Essence of Health", reflecting on the intersection of medicine, public health, and business. It’s an exploration of how these fields converge to influence the future of healthcare. Looking forward to more meaningful discussions as the conference continues. Curiosity fuels progress—let’s keep it going. #SHBC #PublicHealth #HealthcareInnovation #WorkplaceHealth #MedicalResearch #LeadershipInHealthcare

🌟 Connecting the dots between University and Industry #NTUxNHRDN 🌟 Yesterday, I had the pleasure of helping launch a group mentoring program pilot for NTU. It was a truly meaningful moment, bringing together two organizations I've been fortunate to volunteer with over the past few years. 🙌 Unlike traditional mentoring programs, this pilot connects one mentor to multiple mentees. The goal? To foster richer, more diverse discussions that might bring forward topics mentees hadn't even considered yet. 💡💬 This has been my first experience facilitating the connection between different communities to create a broader impact, and it's been incredibly rewarding.🌱 However, none of this would have been possible without the collaborative efforts of the Nanyang Technological University Singapore CAO, the NHRDN Singapore, and the mentors and mentees who brought their enthusiasm to the table. 🙏✨ A big thank you to everyone involved in making this happen! 🙏 Looking forward to seeing the positive impact this program will have on all involved! 🚀 #Mentoring #CareerDevelopment #CommunityBuilding #Collaboration #NTU #NHRDN

  • On 26 September, the Grand Finals of Dell InnovateFest 2024 showcased young talents from over 10 IHLs presenting impactful solutions. Jointly organised by MINDSG Ltd and Lions Befrienders, this marked the 2nd edition of Dell’s Hackathon-with-a-Heart, with the theme centred on solving social isolation challenges faced by persons with intellectual disabilities (PWIDs) and the vulnerable aged community.   As the saying goes, "Hackathons aren't just about coding, they're about solving real-world problems."   Our Nanyang Technological University Singapore team, Team MegaMinds, embodied this spirit by taking home the 2nd Prize with their project, Leo Buddy – an app designed to promote volunteerism among senior volunteers and combat isolation in Singapore’s elderly community. By fostering meaningful connections, tracking isolation, and rewarding participation, Leo Buddy provides a critical lifeline for isolated seniors, including features such as scam detection, a language translation camera, and an AI chatbot for easy navigation.   Once again, a huge congratulations to Team MegaMinds – Cheng Wen Tsao, Lee Han Ni, Jing Xuan Ong, Nicholas Sim, Tesha Ong, and Zi Yu Low – for their dedication and perseverance throughout this hackathon journey. Your commitment to pushing boundaries and developing impactful solutions has been truly inspiring. Great work, team! 👏   #caontusg #Hackathon #DellInnovateFest

A team comprising Zi Hui Ng, Mythili Mulani Janak, Kimberly Atmadja, Tan Lance Riley Ong Fenix, and Yumin Park won the Best Ideation Award for their proposal to create a digital platform for retail malls to engage customers in sustainability programmes. • After an intensive 1-month journey, 8 student teams from the 16th edition of NTU PEAK came together last Friday to present their solutions to business challenges in the areas of Sustainability and Technology, posed by our industry partners in A*STAR Institute of Sustainability for Chemicals, Energy & Environment (ISCE2), EDP Renewables APAC, JTC Corporation, Nxera, and TEAM LEWIS.   We were truly impressed by the effort and thoughtfulness behind each presentation, with every team presenting creative and innovative solutions in this short time. Tackling unfamiliar challenges is never easy, but when it came down to the final presentations, all 41 students delivered their solutions with confidence and handled questions from the judging panel impressively!   Following the presentations, students had the opportunity to engage in a CEO dialogue session, gaining leadership insights and posing their questions directly to the panellists.   NTU PEAK is all about exposing students to real-world business challenges that are highly relevant in today’s society. Working in interdisciplinary teams, students not only hone their leadership and problem-solving skills, but also gain valuable hands-on experience through site visits. Students also worked closely with their industry mentors throughout this one-month journey, gaining further insights into industry practices while being guided in developing their solutions.   Once again, great job to all NTU PEAK participants! Most importantly, a big thank you to our industry mentors, panellists, and students for their active participation and support in making this round of NTU PEAK a success.   🔔 Stay tuned for the next round of NTU PEAK!   Interested in being part of this programme?
