🏗️Full Steam Ahead: Pachora Hybrid Power Project Update👷 Since reaching financial close in August, our first utility-scale green energy power plant has been clearing important milestones. From flagging-off of the first sets of turbine blades destined for our plant in September, and breaking ground on its solar farms in October, to celebrating the erection of its first wind turbine just last month, it has been full steam ahead for the Pachora Hybrid Power Project in Madhya Pradesh, India. It was with the winds of this steady progress at our backs, that we welcomed our Chairman, Lindsay Ward FAICD (Lindsay), to India last week. As our CEO, Raghuram N. (Ram) hosted Lindsay on a tour of our construction sites, we were able to enjoy a moment of reflection on how this flagship project is poised to make a meaningful impact on the Indian grid and the local communities surrounding it. 🛠️ Co-creating a sustainable future 🤝 600 gigawatt hours (GWh)! This is how much emission free, clean energy the Pachora Hybrid Power Project will produce every year. That’s enough renewable energy to sustainably power approximately 550,000 Indian households. This project will directly save 600,000 tons of CO2 from being emitted into the environment. That's the equivalent of removing approximately 140,000 cars from the road or planting nearly 10 million trees. This renewable energy will not only contribute to decarbonizing India’s grid, but contribute to the sustainable development of the surrounding communities, providing jobs and fueling an economy not built on emissions. These were all facts our CEO, Ram was proud to share with our Chairman, Lindsay during the tour. 🦺Safety Rewards & Recognition Program ⚠️ Though pleased to hear about the project's impact, Lindsay noted that Blueleaf Energy’s commitment to safety that he witnessed first-hand, may have made the most lasting impression on him. During his site tour, he was able to attend one of our safety motivation events and personally took part in recognizing our safety champions with certificates and gifts to nurture and further incentivize our strong, safety-first culture. We hold these events regularly as part of our Safety Reward & Recognition Program, an integral tool in our safety management strategy. 📌Join the journey! 🧭 We are firmly on-track to deliver the Pachora Hybrid Power Project in 2025, but it is just the first of many projects to come as we work diligently to add 10 GW of renewable energy capacity across Asia by 2030. Watch this space for more updates and follow our page to join our journey as we strive to accelerate Asia’s energy transition towards net zero and beyond. #CleanEnergy #RenewableEnergy #India #SustainableFuture #EnergyTransition #WindEnergy #Solar

🧘🏻♀️A Month of Wellness: Prioritizing Mental Health at Work 🧠 World Mental Health Day was observed on the 10th of October this year, but at Blueleaf Energy we observed this important day across our offices for an entire month. At Blueleaf Energy, we take pride in supporting a safe and healthy working environment for all our employees, an environment that helps our people thrive. So as the World Health Organization (WHO) set the focus of World Mental Heal Day 2024 to “Mental Health at Work”, we challenged ourselves to explore how we could prioritize the mental and physical well-being of our employees across our offices. From October 10th to November 10th, we organized a series of initiatives to foster a positive and supportive work environment. 🇹🇼 Relaxing in Taiwan🧋 In Taiwan, we organized serene "Terrarium Little Forest" activities, inviting our local staff to take time during their workday to create personal terrariums for their desks. These green spaces brought a bit of garden relaxation into their workdays, and held relaxing happy hours. 🇸🇬 Wellness Market in Singapore🔴 Our Singapore office hosted a body and mind wellness market, offering general health and vision screenings, chiropractic care, and insightful talks on the role of sleep in not only physical, but mental health and how to improve the quality of your sleep to lift your life. 🇮🇳 Decompressing in India🐘 Team India held comprehensive workshops on managing stress and burnout and how to take care of your eye health when working with screens all day. 🇯🇵 Zen in Japan 🗾 In Japan our team organized rejuvenating team walks around the imperial palace that allowed our employees to enjoy the sunshine and take in the beautiful natural scenery before settling in for a picnic on the grass of the palace garden. By investing in our employees' mental health, we’re not only aiming to provide a healthy work environment but also contributing to a healthier and more sustainable future. Let’s work together to break down stigma, prioritize mental health, and create workplaces where everyone can feel safe, included, and thrive. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthAtWork #EmployeeWellbeing #CorporateWellness #BlueleafEnergy #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability

🤝Community Engagement: Powering Potential in India 🚀 We’re pleased to share that as our 200 MW Pachora Hybrid Power Project’s construction has entered full swing so has our engagement with the people of Agar. Led by Tej Pratap Tripathi, our local Community Engagement Manager, team members from Bangalore and Singapore have been holding school competitions, nutritional awareness workshops, and educational talks in Palkhedi, Jamuniya, and Palda. These activities aim to raise awareness about the importance of renewable energy, nutrition, and education in powering potential and the planet. By connecting with the communities that our Pachora Hybrid Power Project touches, we strive to foster trust, open dialogue, and incorporate their needs and aspirations into our sustainable development plans. Data centres, artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency accounted for almost two percent of global energy demand in 2022 — and this demand could double by 2026. Such growth could roughly equate to the entirety of the electricity currently consumed by Japan today. In addition, annual clean energy investment worldwide will need to almost triple from $US1.8 trillion in 2023 to $US4.5 trillion by 2030 to put the world on track for reaching net zero emissions by 2050. (International Atomic Energy Agency, 2024)   Kate Vidgen, Head of Industrial Transition & Clean Fuels, MAM Green Investments, Raghuram N., CEO of Blueleaf Energy, a portfolio company of MAM Green Investments, Edward Lewis, Managing Director of Macquarie, Aine O'Connell, APAC COO and Asset Creation & Management, MAM Green Investments, shared their perspectives on the significant investment opportunity that the intersection of electricity demand and energy transition presents to institutional and wealth clients in Hong Kong and Singapore. 🌏COP29 & Beyond: India’s Energy Transition🌱 “For us to be anywhere close to net zero there is a capital requirement of one to two trillion dollars. While our objective or target looks ambitious, it is still not ambitious enough to mitigate the climate crisis. 2030 is not the end of it.” A daunting but incisive observation shared by Pratyush Thakur, our Country Head for India, during his recent interview with the Sustainability Karma podcast. In fact, according to Thakur, money is the missing piece in the global race to net zero and this is where COP 29 would do well to direct its focus. However, during this interview, he shared that aside from the required capital, there is much strategic work to be done, and he had much to say on what this should look like for India. Here are 3 key takeaways from the interview: 🇮🇳 India has made significant progress in renewable energy, but more needs to be done. The country aims to achieve 50% of its installed power capacity from non-fossil fuels by 2030, but this will still only account for 25-30% of its energy generation. 🇮🇳 Transmission infrastructure is crucial for achieving renewable energy targets. The government's efforts to build high-tension transmission lines have been essential for connecting renewable energy sources to the grid. 🇮🇳 Partnerships are key to overcoming challenges in critical mineral availability and battery storage. India can learn from China's experience in battery technology and processing, and forge joint ventures with Chinese companies to accelerate India’s own progress. Listen to the full interview to unlock more insights from Pratyush Thakur on how India can achieve its renewable energy goals and contribute to the global fight against climate change.
