Lip-Bu Tan has been president and CEO of Cadence since January 2009, and a director in the company since February 2004. He also serves as chairman of Walden International, a venture capital firm that he founded in 1987. Prior to that, he was president at Chappell & Co., and he has held management positions at EDS Nuclear and ECHO Energy.
He is a current board member for EDAC and the GSA, and sits on the boards of Ambarella Inc., SINA and SMIC.
Tan received an MS in nuclear engineering from MIT; an MBA from the University of San Francisco; and a BS from Nanyang University in Singapore.
