Inspired by Seimei's own life in the greater Tokyo metropolitan area, the song was created with the theme of the audience dancing in the nightclubs where he works in Tokyo.
The song is a trippy and danceable 4x4 beat track influenced by ghetto tech and Detroit techno, and uses the names of downtown areas in “TOKYO” where Seimei and the artists around him live and work, such as Shibuya, Shinjuku, and Shimokita, with his voice processed.
This theme had existed in Seimei's mind for some time, but he had been unable to create a song that matched it. However, after completing the base of this song, he used his own voice recorded with his iPhone, and the song was completed immediately.
The lyrics, “This is the sound of the East,” not only refers to the sound of Tokyo and the Tokyo metropolitan area, but also to the perspective of “TOKYO,” the eastern part of Asia as seen from the West, and expresses his respect for his home ground as a DJ from multiple perspectives.
The remixes are by up-and-coming Japanese artists “Oyubi,” “NirBorna,” and “DubGuy,” who have also released on TREKKIE TRAX and whose music are played not only in Seimei's DJ sets but also by DJs around the world. The album includes remix by New York-based techno artist WTCHCRFT, who is also a friend of Seimei.
