When we founded Mono Solutions in 2007, the B2B SaaS model faced a lot of skepticism. Back then, software was installed on servers – the cloud was barely a concept. Thanks to the visionary insight of my co-founder David Højelsen, we persevered. Q1 2024 was yet another quarter of strong results, as net sales grew by 33.3% to SEK 253.4m and EBITDA by 37.3% to SEK 119.7m compared to last year. The growth is driven by more property sellers choosing to maximise their marketing on Hemnet through investing in Hemnet Premium, as well as 11 % more property listings compared to last year. 2024 has started with a number of welcomed positive signals on the property market with not only more listings on Hemnet, but also more transactions, higher prices as well as increasing price expectations from consumers. Are Our Power Grids Ready for Renewables? With renewables and electrification, short-term, high-capacity peaks are replacing traditional steady energy use. This creates bottlenecks in the grid, with too much or too little energy available both locally and nationally. In Sweden, homeowners can opt in to support the grid and get paid, in Netherlands, some energy companies have tried charging customers for feeding in energy during peak times, and in Australia, households must allow grid operators to limit their energy production when necessary without compensation. The latter idea is something that is also now being discussed in Germany. At Svea Solar, we're committed to tackling grid challenges, but regulations play a key role. Do you believe incentives, penalties, or mandatory production limits from grid owners is the way forward? Or is there another way to encourage this transformation? I'd love to hear your thoughts! PS.
