Last night I had the great pleasure of being a part of a lively discussion on 'AI in Healthcare' at the Digital Health Copenhagen - Meetup.com event at Health Tech Hub Copenhagen. Together with Katalin Vikuk, Mark Yousef, Constant Beroulle and Nicolas Bouchet we touched upon many aspects of this brave new world. All under the expert hosting of Paula Petcu. There were a few points, I felt it was important to get across, when we discuss the opportunities for AI in healthcare: - Trustworthiness is going to be key. We simply need to make sure we have both data privacy, data security and product quality under absolute control. Leniency and mistakes can have severe personal consequences in healthcare. - When trying to push the message about AI into healthcare, we need to be more thoughtful of how we frame it. We need to focus more on 'Narrow AI' in compartmentalized 'boxes', where it essentially is a question about adding a performance and efficiency booster to something that is already well understood by clinicians. That will help combat myths, fears and what have you and pave the way for some really strong factual use cases that deliver positive outcomes. - Founders need to close the gap between the realities in the healthcare sector and the fantasies of the tech world. Healthcare is not an industry, where you can just assume that your customers and stakeholders will 'get it' or ' go home'. The healthcare sector is - for good reason - risk averse, focused on real evidence and quite conservative. Put yourself in their shoes and understand them, if you ever want to sell something to them. We also briefly touched upon what is going on in the US, and what impact RFK is going to have on regulation etc over there. I called it an "interesting experiment", we will likely see over there and at the same time expressed my gratitude that I am personally not going to be one of the guinea pigs of whatever it is that they will be doing going forward. I think there are some early signs that there could be some troublesome developments and 'free for alls', which could end up hurting people. I hope I will be proven wrong on this one. Can Swedish AI startup Sana become one of the world's hectocorns, worth more than $100bn? It's possible, according to the founder Joel Hellermark. #InternationalKnowledgeExchange 🌍 Today, the Nordic digital mental health community gathered in an inspiring exchange of ideas at the "Digital Psychology Nordics" conference. Representatives from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, and Finland shared their insights and good practices in using technology to enhance mental healthcare delivery. One of the key focuses of the early day discussions was #ethics — how we can implement innovative technologies responsibly, ensuring they serve patients’ best interests. Also, some firmly believe in the power of bringing care closer to people, extending support beyond clinics to patients’ homes. We at Heka VR believe the same and this is why we have both VR-based and screen based avatar therapy solution! Marie Paldam Folker from Centre for Digital Psychiatry shared exciting solutions available to the Danish citizens, as well the updates about the Danish government's proposed healthcare reforms, emphasizing a much stronger role for mental health. It is now as the last week in the training of "AI coaching for content creators" at Oulu, with 80% of my goals satisfied so far to it. I am interesting currently / mainly to text-content creation by GenAI focused on my exploring the advantages from the input with a longer context length in Kimi AI, as well as GenAIs' further moving if possibly and ideally as Google's new Infini-attention technique: Link 1 - News: Google's new Infini-attention technique lets you input infinite text into LLMs https://lnkd.in/gjpbQYNe Link 2 - Research Paper from Google: Leave No Context Behind: Efficient Infinite Context Transformers with Infini-attention https://lnkd.in/gCFJ4QAn However, Google did not release the models or code, so other researchers have not been able to verify the results. I did try same question to Kimi AI for my previous LinkedIn post (near 40k characters - much less than its limit of 2 million characters) as the input to Google's Gemini AI today ... but too long to fail there. Just same as ChatGPT and MS Copilot tried already in the past! It means to input infinite / longer text into LLMs for Gemin AI now not possible yet ... its productization unfortunately much slower than the research if comparing with Kimi AI. In principle, the input of a longer context length into Kimi AI is already good enough for me now able trying a lot more for the purposes of R&D productization and commercialization! Is it feasible for the users to insert all of applicable documents into the prompt, and then let the GenAI pick the most relevant parts for each query to combine / optimize them together? Is it easier for the users than developing the techniques such as fine-tuning or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) - obviously to require a lot of challenging engineering efforts?
