#StorAIge project starts to go towards its end after three years research with many interesting partners in the EU. We have in this #EdgeAI project made AI/ML algorithms based on internationally available data sets to for #AtrialFibrillation, #Sepsis, #CongestiveHeartFailure. 😀 These AI/ML algorithms we have placed on an #FPGA to help #KTH validated their #SiLago HW framework. This project lay the grounds in the SwipeCare product development for intelligent, secure and efficient point of care solutions with decision support also on the edge. 👍

Anders Tånger, CEO of Photon Sports Technologies AB, is on a mission: to give every sports team access to sophisticated tools, rather than this being left to the teams that are already successful and rich. In particular, he spotted that in Europe female football players did not have access to the same quality of data as their male counterparts. “We recognised that while the women’s football market was growing, it lacked the same opportunities as men’s football due to limited budgets,” Anders told us. “This realisation led us to partner with the Swedish Women’s League as our first customer in 2022.” The technology – which tracks and analyses body movements using 3D images of athletes – is not only affordable, it’s also highly portable. Which means it can be used where the players are training, enabling it to capture authentic movement. It’s already having an impact, helping coaches and athletes spot areas that can be improved. And now Photon Sports is looking beyond football and at any sport that features explosive movement, from handball to speed skating. Kry Ventures into Generative AI to Enhance Healthcare Services Swedish digital healthcare startup Kry has announced significant investments in generative AI, thereby pushing back its projected profitability to 2025. Nonetheless, the company remains profitable on a country level, excluding central costs. In 2023, pre-tax losses were halved to €78 million, while revenue surged to €188 million. Kry secured a €20 million convertible note from its existing investors, with the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan making the largest contribution. The investment in AI is aimed at reducing administrative workload for healthcare staff and integrating digital and physical care pathways. Kry's ultimate goal is to emerge as Europe's largest primary care provider, excluding public systems, and to cater to 10% of the population in its target markets by 2027. Currently operating 55 physical clinics, Kry is open to acquisitions in order to bolster its in-person healthcare offerings. 🗞 NEWS FLASH: Dexcom invests $75M in ŌURA, valuing the company at $5B+ 🤝 Following the recent acquisition of Veri (a Finnish CMG service provider), Oura now announces a strategic partnership with Dexcom (CGM device maker) that includes investment and an integration to allow data to flow between apps in order better understand the link between activity, sleep, nutrition, and their glucose. I have been using the Abbott Lingo for the past few months and can attest to the value of having real time information about how what you eat impacts spikes in glucose. It’s been fun experimenting to optimize my nutrition. It also syncs with my fitness data which also allows me to easily track and see how a walk after eating or an exercise session impact results. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: Aki Nummela provided an insightful explanation of our functionality, emphasising the benefits of our technology in nursing home night shifts and home care, particularly in preventing falls. Minna Nissinen’s powerful statement, “Nurses should not do the work of robots,” resonated with many, highlighting the ongoing debate about integrating technology into nurses’ work. 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹: We believe that the technology is now available to significantly enhance elderly care. Our goal was to raise awareness and accelerate the adoption of these technologies to improve care quality and efficiency. *NEW* While we were Stockholm for CEO Summit, we shared the results of a Consumer Technology Association study focused on Swedish consumer sentiment around #AI, and how Swedes are using this fast-evolving technology in the workplace and their daily lives. https://lnkd.in/ejvxzcxt   Some topline findings:   •  52% of Swedes report using at least one AI tool at work, and 77% of Gen Z Swedes expect to use Gen AI professionally in the next five years, compared to 62% of the overall population. •  Swedes are excited about AI now, as well as its future potential. Respondents expect AI to have the most positive impact on their lives in the areas of technology (48%), customer services (36%), and education (35%). •  Excitement is balanced by some concerns that can be addressed with good public policy. 72% of Swedish consumers want clear labeling on AI-generated content. 🚀 TrueHear has received funding from Business Finland research-to-business! We are developing an end-to-end solution for hearing loss rehabilitation. TrueHear ensures that patients get TRUE HEARING BENEFIT from their hearing aid and enables them to continue a normal life. ✨ Hearing loss is the most common disability among people over 70. However, only 30-40 percent of hearing aid users feel that they benefit from their devices; this could be due to selecting the wrong type of hearing aid, improper adjustments, or further deterioration of hearing. The benefits and adjustments of the hearing aid should be verified in a realistic noisy sound environment both at the time of receiving the device and regularly afterward. With current healthcare resources and methods, this is not possible. With TrueHear, the patient can independently measure their hearing ability with the hearing aid in a realistic sound environment.
