I'm not sure why people in Kashmir are surprised when I tell them I don't write raw SQL queries. During recent interviews, I noticed some alarm when I mentioned this. Personally, I prefer using ORMs and ODMs because they abstract away the complexity, making development faster and more efficient. Many top companies also adopt ORMs and ODMs for these very reasons. I never applied for a software engineering job with a tool/language written in the title. Examples: Software engineer - golang Software developer - laravel Software developer - react native Senior Software Engineer - NodeJs I understand its motive to make it easier for recruiters to search and filter by. However, I'm a big believer that the top engineers are the ones who are agnostic to tools and languages and they know how to get things done without being attached to any tool/language/framework. Yes, you sometimes need a specialist but that should not be more than 10% of your hires. #softwareengineering #hiring #career

Difference between Session-Based and JWT-Based Authentication: Session-Based Authentication: Storage: User session data is stored on the server, often in a database or in-memory store like Redis. Session ID: A session ID is stored in a cookie on the client side. Stateful: The server must maintain the state of each user's session, requiring storage and lookup on each request. JWT-Based Authentication: Storage: JWTs (JSON Web Tokens) are typically stored client-side, often in local storage or cookies. Token: The JWT itself contains all the necessary information about the user, encoded as a JSON object. Stateless: The server does not need to maintain session state, as the JWT is self-contained and can be verified independently. Database Storage (Optional): By default, JWTs do not need to be stored on the server or database, but you can override this behavior if you need to manage token invalidation or revocation.

I extracted a wrapper for concurrent upload to Cloudinary as a library. There were a couple of race conditions for folder classification but all were resolved and fixed. I am looking forward to some stress tests in the coming days. I might have to decide which approach is better and at what point the code breaks🧐. #golang #programming

I created a Zap that automates the process of saving URLs shared in Slack into Airtable. The trigger is set to capture new messages posted in specific Slack channels. The Zap then filters these messages to ensure only those containing URLs are processed. Using Zapier’s Formatter, the URLs are extracted from the message text. Next, the Zap creates records in Airtable, saving the URL, message content, sender information, and timestamp. Finally, the automation posts a notification in a dedicated Slack channel whenever a new link is saved. My React Native app made $44K + $5K (outside of stores), here is what I learnt as a solo dev 1. OTA is must have! Nowadays I don’t really have time to deal with Apple/Google things. So it’s really dope to fix and ship within 20 minutes React Native is newborn friendly 👶🍼 2. Prepare some pop-up that u can control remotely and thank me later. For example: Privacy policy changes, subscription price change announce, xmas welcome, highlighting new features. Again if you don’t have time, it could help a lot 3. Write some docs, u not gonna remember how to start the project after 6 months, believe me 4. use Expo and EAS services! Don’t waste time and energy with upgrading. Also, it’s cheap 5. measure your income sources, at least screen level. Believe me it’s way easier to validate your idea 💸

I was tired of the verbose syntax of React, so I asked ChatGPT to help me invent a new programming language idea. It did a pretty good job 🤯 Here is the prompt I used 👇 Help me invent a new language. It should be possible to transpile the language to React. But the new language should be much more compact and expressive. You can for example you indentation instead of curly brackets, like in Python. You can use unicode and symbols instead of keywords. Set - Creativity to 100% - Think out the box to 100% - Expressiveness to 100% ~~ I would love to see your experiments with this.
