En ledande konsult inom mångfald, jämlikhet och inkludering (DEI) med bas i Sverige och Schweiz. Sedan 2008 har vi arbetat för en inkluderande arbetsmarknad som tar tillvara hela befolkningens potential – något vi ser som nyckeln till framgång för företag, samhälle och individer. Vi stöttar arbetsgivare med strategier, utbildning och verktyg för att effektivt hantera utmaningar och möjligheter kopplade till DEI. Vårt mentorprogram stärker förutsättningarna för individer med utländsk bakgrund och eftergymnasial utbildning att nå jobb som matchar deras kompetens. Varje år stöttar vi cirka 1 000 adepter genom vårt mentorprogram och har cirka 35 organisationer i vårt partnernätverk.

Throughout the autumn, we’re featuring our incredible colleagues, from Mitt Liv’s beginnings to today. This week, meet Magnus – one of our DEI Consultants! 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹? I work at Mitt Liv as Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Consultant. My work is the perfect balance between desk work, analysing data, working on processes, and developing company structures and being out and about meeting clients, holding presentations, and leading workshops. My personal plus: I'm one of your local contacts by the Swedish West Coast, in beautiful Gothenburg. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗶𝘁𝘁 𝗟𝗶𝘃? Some might say I'm the newest addition to the Mitt Liv team in 2024. Others would say I've been with the company for nearly 4 years! How so? Well, I was a mentee in Mitt Livs Chans mentoring programme in 2021 and also contributed as a mentor in a later programme. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗘𝗜 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁? Overall, I'm passionate about empowering people to take their own strides towards more inclusive behaviour. It’s no secret I’m passionate about elevating topics concerning gender and sexual orientation. I’ve always questioned why "coming out" is expected to validate LGBTQIA+ identities. The film The Danish Girl sparked my interest in how laws reinforce binary gender norms and marginalise others. Since then, queerness has been central to my research and consultancy work. To some extent, my passion also relates back to my personal experience. Until I started university, I didn't know I was disadvantaged as an aspiring student of working-class background. I found a community that's helped me - from finding the right study programme to tackling debt and building skills to find jobs. I want to make sure I open doors for others in underrepresented groups. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸? I love, love, LOVE that our work contributes to handing out opportunities to people who otherwise would face barriers. As a consultant, I have the unique opportunity to support company representatives on different levels in making structures and processes more inclusive, which creates a sustainable base to more equitable access to work and education. A levelled playing field benefits everyone and as such, we can make the (working) world a little better, one day at a time. 🌎 𝗙𝘂𝗻 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁: My name is my DEI superpower! Since I moved to Sweden, my name has contributed to me having a variety of assumed identities. People usually have a variety of ideas around where I'm from based on my name, they hear me speak and they would assume something else. Until I clarify, the hints usually don't lead to a unified picture - which is a great opener to our trainings around unconscious bias! #DEIB #DEI

  • < Impact for our mentors > This October we released our 2024 impact report, and here’s a look at the effects our mentoring program has on mentors. By engaging in our mentoring program, mentors don’t just support skilled individuals in navigating the labour market – they also gain valuable perspectives and develop their own leadership skills. Mentoring fosters a deeper understanding of inclusion, cultural diversity, and the challenges migrants face. This exchange benefits both parties, as mentors often describe the experience as eye-opening, inspiring, and impactful for their personal and professional growth. Styrelsen för Beredskapslyftet lyfte igår i en debattartikel i Dagens industri en viktig fråga: Sverige är bland de sämsta i Europa på att ta vara på utländsk talang. Trots hög kompetens möter många utrikesfödda hinder på arbetsmarknaden – något som påverkar både individer och Sveriges konkurrenskraft och innovationsförmåga.
