We promise you the right to always be yourself - a place to belong".

👉 Traceability gives customers the power to choose! Being able to trace the entire production chain is important for several reasons, but the social aspect is possibly the most important. Consumers should always be able to get information about where and how their garments have been manufactured, says Sandra Roos, Vice President Sustainability at Kappahl Group in a column published today in Dagens Industri. https://shorter.me/6KrXn

💪Collaboration for a transition to a sustainable and circular textile industry💪 Kappahl Group participated in the UN International Trade Centre (ITC) meeting focused on the potential of collaboration in the transition to a sustainable and circular textile industry between Swedish brands and textile suppliers in Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan and Sri Lanka. Kappahl, Lindex, Nudie Jeans, Eton Shirts and BLÅKLÄDER aka BLAKLADER provided a picture of the importance of transparency down to fibre level, renewable energy, garment longevity and respect for human rights, for attractive suppliers in the future. In the picture: Rudrajeet Pal from The Swedish School of Textiles - University of Borås, organiser of the meeting, together with several other participants. 🧦♻️🧦Can old socks be turned into biochar and used in, for example, steel production? Here is an exciting project Kappahl Group is participating in – investigating whether old clothes can reduce the steel industry's climate footprint. This is done by replacing the fossil carbon traditionally used in steel-making with biochar made from textile waste, such as old socks. "In this project, the fashion and steel industries are working together to reduce climate impact and to recycle more end-of-life textiles," says Sandra Roos, Vice President Sustainability at Kappahl Group. The project is being carried out within BioInnovation, read more about the project on BioInnovation's website here: https://lnkd.in/dET978iT Höganäs AB Skogsindustrierna IKEM - Innovations- och kemiindustrierna i Sverige TEKO, Sveriges Textil- och Modeföretag Vinnova Formas, a Swedish Research Council for Sustainable Development The Swedish Energy Agency International Energy Agency
