  • This post from CIPC ACE Manchester reminded me just how essential it is to recognize that culture isn’t something “soft”—it’s actually hardcore and tangible. We see it in what we do, hear it in what we say, and feel it in the energy that fills our workplaces. Culture is built gradually, through daily actions, the behaviors we reinforce, and what we allow or don’t allow.   • This morning's "Mon Village Caîo" breakfast meeting, run by Théodora Gomis, was a powerful reminder of the importance of a supportive network—especially for mothers balancing careers, family, and self-care. Creating a safe space for women goes beyond sharing stories; it’s about fostering real connections. As we discussed, self-care isn’t about luxury getaways or escapes—it’s soul care: setting boundaries, managing stress, and intentionally connecting with ourselves. These moments aren’t indulgences; they’re essential. We also touched on the courage it takes to ask for help, not just broadly but with intention and specificity. It takes a village, not only to raise a child but also to support each other through life’s transitions. This community shows me how much we can accomplish when we show up for ourselves and each other.     Yesterday, attending a webinar on Conscious AI Leadership leading the future business and people was eye-opening. It is very clear as AI’s role expands, leaders are navigating a polarised landscape. The shift is inevitable, but what kind of leadership is needed? - AI demands that we adopt a mindset of exploration, but one that stays grounded in purpose and ethics. ❤️ Human-Centered Focus, the discussions really reminded me of the need to keep human needs at the heart of AI, balancing efficiency with empathy.  - Conscious AI leadership also means staying fully accountable, adding a layer of supervision, for AI’s impact—both in the ways it transforms business and how it touches people’s lives. My reflection: Are we ready for the mindset shift that conscious AI requires? I wonder if we, as leaders and as individuals, are nimble enough to embrace the transformation AI is bringing. It’s humbling to think about the responsibility we have—to adopt and adapt with purpose, and to stay accountable as responsible AI users.   • When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade... But Not Every Lemon Should Be Used! 🍋 We've all heard, "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade." But the real trick is knowing which lemons are worth squeezing and which ones are just... rotten. Life can feel like it's throwing lemons at us from all directions. But what if we paused to see which are truly ours to deal with, and which ones we can simply bounce back? Protecting our energy means not accepting every challenge as our own. When things get tough, what about slowing down, and keeping our vision clear. Instead of saying, "everything is happening to me," bounce back with resilience—and even bounce some of those lemons away to where they belong. 🍋✨ Lemonade is sweet, full of antioxidants, and represents strength and positive energy.   • Every morning, I pass by a small shop, and every morning, there’s a simple act of kindness on display. The owner sets out a plate with a few biscuits and a small cup of milk, coffee, or hot chocolate—waiting for someone to pick it up. It’s there, quietly inviting, and I’ve often wondered, like many others passing by, who will take it? Some days, I’m sure someone does. But the store owner doesn’t seem to care if it’s picked up or not. She never stops, never gives up, and continues this small gesture day after day, without expecting a thank you or recognition. It made me reflect: true acts of kindness don’t need a reward. They’re about believing in the power of thoughtfulness, no strings attached. In a world full of challenges, doing an act of kindness—even when no one’s watching—shows that kindness can rise above it all. As leaders, what small acts of kindness are we putting out into the world, without expecting anything in return?     This week, I had the privilege to speak to a scout group aged 11-15 about what it means to be a scout and what makes a good leader. It was such an inspiring experience! We started by discussing who they admire and the qualities that make these individuals stand out. Most of them chose their moms 💕, emphasizing characteristics like having a good heart, caring, supporting, always being there, motivating, and never giving up on them. Then, I asked them to pick the 5-7 most important characteristics of a leader and explain why. Their answers were raw, honest, unpolished, and to the point: - Generous and kind—because leaders should show they truly care - Decisive—leaders need to make clear decisions - Listens and teaches—helping us understand how to do things - Patient—so we can learn at our own pace - Respectful—if a leader shows respect, we will do the same - Supportive—especially when we don’t feel well - Leads with trust—showing us the right way while believing in us - Fair—treating everyone equally I was deeply moved by their insights. They kept it real, focusing on what’s truly important in leadership today: empathy, authenticity, respect, and trust. I also forgot how much kids can be talkative and all over the place 😅 —here, there is no fear to speak up! They share freely, without hesitation, and their voices are so important. It made me reflect—what if we listened more to the childlike wisdom within us? Perhaps we'd rediscover the simplicity and truth that so often gets lost in complexity.   • This week I had an experience that highlighted the power of vulnerability and teamwork. I was leading a project where communication needed to be in both Swedish and Arabic. While organizing, gathering input, and driving the project forward is my comfort zone, writing in Arabic is not—I hadn’t done it in over 20 years! At the end of the meeting, I shared this with the team, confidently telling them that while they could count on me for everything else, my Arabic writing might be rusty. Later, I gave it a shot and sent a draft of the Arabic text to our group. One teammate sent a heart in response, and another called me with edits, kindly asking if I wanted her to share the revised version. She said, "If you hadn’t mentioned your struggle with Arabic, I wouldn’t have offered to help." Two lessons stood out for me: 💥 Saying "I’m not great at this" doesn’t mean I won’t try. 💥 Being open about my shortcomings doesn't make me weak—it creates space for others to shine and feel safe contributing.
