Light has never been so light. Light Shed Linen from iGuzzini was developed in partnership with researchers to reduce environmental impact. Linen is a natural product known for its light and clean nature, which helps to reduce not only its carbon footprint but also its water footprint. The luminaire uses biophilic design to reinforce our connection with the natural world and offers a pleasant, embracing light with variable colour temperatures to resemble nature. At the Unilever Foods Innovation Center, known as "Hive," research focuses on providing sustainable food solutions for the world population. The building itself embodies this mission, aiming for sustainability in every aspect. Fagerhult contributed to this vision by delivering sustainable lighting solutions. Luminaires built for industrial demands. The eucalyptus pulp mill near Paso de los Toros in central Uruguay is an important investment for the region’s development. Sustainable buildings are the future. Humlegården Fastigheter AB’s Greenhouse in Solna Strand is a prime example of reusing, recycling, and upcycling. This beautiful old brick property was modernized sustainably, preserving its historical value by reusing interior elements.   Fagerhult got involved at an early stage of the project to convert and transform the old luminaires into modern presence- and daylight-controlled LED luminaires. By refurbishing 2 700 luminaires, we achieved significant environmental and economic savings, avoiding new wiring and ceiling modifications. To future-proof the building, the plug-and-play lighting control system Organic Response was also installed in every luminaire. In conjunction with the careful renovation of the old fabric factory in Malmö, originally built in 1901, ateljé Lyktan developed an energy-saving variant of the industrial lighting that once illuminated the factory. Climate change challenges all of us to think innovatively. Fagerhult Group has advanced positions for sustainable lighting products in various business areas. One interesting example is Kvisten from Fagerhult, a unique and innovative luminaire that represents a fusion of traditional handicraft and modern technology. The luminaire body is manufactured entirely out of wood, which provides a pleasant and natural feel while symbolising the promise of a brighter, more sustainable future. Kvisten consists of 77 per cent recycled or renewable material, with a frame made out of pine plywood with a birch veneer. The reflectors have been reused from discarded TV equipment. Whitecroft Lighting was appointed by M&E contractor NG Bailey as the main lighting manufacturer for the Manchester Engineering Campus Development. Covering 80,000 square meters over four buildings, this project required high-design bespoke lighting – either custom designed or sourced from our specialist education inventory.
