Mental Health Services Specialist The Attorney General's Office has an immediate vacancy for a Mental Health Services Specialist to provide professional support related to the Utah Children's Justice Center (CJC) Program.
Incumbents develop and coordinate mental health services programs as an in-house expert providing support to the Children's Justice Center (CJC) Program and in collaboration with local CJCs.
Incumbent resolves a variety of complex issues and may perform a combination of the following tasks: provide quality assurance and monitor program effectiveness; provide education; communicate with and educate CJC staff and partner agencies on CJC mental health services policy, operating procedures; deliver presentations; provide technical expertise; provide quality control measurements and evaluation; may audit, investigate, compile statistics, analyze data, make recommendations, and complete reports.
Masters degree in Mental Health, Social Work, or a related field required.
Preference will be given to applicants with prior CJC/CAC experience.
Example of Duties Coordinates program activities, services, and/or program implementation with other governmental entities, private providers, program users, etc.
Develops and implements procedures in response to agency policy, state and federal laws, etc.
Provides consultation, makes recommendations, and/or facilitates decisions related to public information.
Analyzes, summarizes and/or reviews data; reports findings, interprets results, and/or makes recommendations.
Receives, researches, and responds to incoming questions; provides information, explains policy and procedures, and/or facilitates a resolution.
Identifies problems or potential problems and recommends solutions.
Provides and coordinates professional development and training opportunities to CJC staff and clinicians who partner with CJCs.
Delivers presentations, training, or instruction to CJC staff, clinicians, partner agencies, or the public.
Direct Utah CJC Program efforts to improve access to trauma-informed mental health care for CJC clients across Utah Lead and coordinate efforts to assess the availability of trauma-informed mental health services for CJC clients and identify areas for growth and action Strengthen the statewide telemental health network for CJC clients Collaborate with other mental health clinicians and networks statewide to participate in and build key mental health partnerships Promote and support professional development and training opportunities for mental health professionals who partner with CJCs Facilitate targeted assistance and training to local CJCs and their partner agencies on key mental health topics Recommend policies and procedures to improve the availability, accessibility, and delivery of mental health services to CJC clients statewide Work in collaboration with the Pediatric Integrated Post-Trauma Services (PIPS) team to support centers in improving the identification and treatment of traumatic stress in children Provide consultation and technical assistance to CJCs in the utilization of the Care Process Model (developed by PIPS, in collaboration with the University of Utah and Primary Children’s Center for Safe and Healthy Families) to conduct trauma screening for children Serve on boards, councils, committees, or task forces to coordinate relevant program activities and facilitate programmatic goals and initiatives Typical Qualifications (includes knowledge, skills, and abilities required upon entry into position and trainable after entry into position) Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills.

Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc.
Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
While not extensive, some travel will be required.
Valid driver license required to drive a motor vehicle on a highway in this state per UCA 53-3-202(1)(a).
This position is not telework eligible.
