Breast Cancer Campaign in Rwanda at Carnegie Mellon University Africa🎗️ 😌In October, at Carnegie Mellon University Africa, we proudly honored Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a variety of meaningful activities. 🎥We kicked off with a movie night, featuring "Five", a powerful film that shared inspiring stories of women and men affected by breast cancer and their survival journeys. 💝Our main event, "We’re Stronger Together", featured a panel discussion with breast cancer survivor Philippa Kibugu-Decuir , who shared her experience and resilience, alongside Dr.Eulade Ndizihiwe , who explained the importance of early detection and debunked common myths. Apoh Eldrige also spoke about leveraging technology to raise awareness and aid early breast cancer detection. Big thanks to Assynath Mlay , our marketing expert at Check Me Ltd that always makes it work. 🎯We closed with an engaging trivia game and an interactive workshop, helping everyone learn more about breast cancer and how we can all play a part in raising awareness. 🤝🥰 We extend heartfelt thanks to Women in Tech Club, Zoner Health , The African Leadership University , Breast Cancer Initiative East Africa, and Philippa Kibugu-Decuir for their support in this fight against breast cancer. Put Her in the Picture! 💪🏾💗 Today, we celebrated the conclusion of Check Me Ltd Breast Cancer Awareness campaign with an engaging workshop at Data Girl Technologies The event was filled with meaningful activities, including discussions on what breast cancer is, its signs and symptoms, and the myths surrounding this critical issue. We also heard inspiring stories from those who have seen loved ones battle this deadly disease, highlighting the importance of community support. Participants learned about preventive measures like self-examinations and early detection treatment options, empowering them to take charge of their health. The atmosphere was vibrant, with fun games, Cherokee singing, and dancing to honor breast cancer survivors! 🎶💃 We were particularly thrilled to have a deaf participant who expressed his joy in learning about breast cancer. He is eager to advocate for awareness and support others in understanding this important issue. A heartfelt thank you to our partners and sponsors, including Data Girl Technologies , Happy Me Health, and Smart Family Association, along with our incredible volunteers and participants.
