Ever faced a moment where you knew the answers but couldn't deliver? Here's my story of a Wordle app challenge... A few years ago, I applied for a frontend developer role at one of the top companies in Serbia. Part of the interview involved creating a Wordle-like app in React during a live coding session. I had 2 hours and felt confident - I knew React well. But then, for reasons I couldn't explain, I froze. It wasn’t stage fright or lack of knowledge. The interviewers were supportive, and I could use online resources, but nothing clicked. By the end of the session, I had nothing to show. That night, I was determined to prove to myself I could do it. I opened my laptop and, in less than two hours, built the Wordle app from scratch, using React + Vanilla JS + CSS. Recently, I decided to revisit this project with a fresh perspective - this time using React + TypeScript + Chakra UI - and challenged myself to the same 2-hour time limit. I am seeking a Remote Junior .Net Developer position (WPF, Unity, Asp.NET) Here is a compilation of my projects from the last 2 years. My projects are listed on my LinkedIn profile in more details + Source code I live in Romania, I speak Romanian and English. Looking for a remote opportunity as a: • Junior Unity Game Developer • Junior WPF Developer • Junior Asp.NET Backend developer I've started programming a few years ago as a hobby, mostly to pass time, but I've started to have enough projects made and even receive donations from people enjoying my work in order to think that I might be able to turn it into something more than a hobby. My best skills are: • Researching • Learning • Planning I don't need hand holding, just point me in the right direction and I'll learn the rest. These skills gave me the ability to successfully build many projects in different areas with no help. When I have a project idea I can bring it to life even if I have no idea how to make it yet, by breaking it in smaller tasks, research each step separately, learning what I don't know, plan the architecture and then bring everything together. Then, while making new projects using the same tech, I learn better ways to achieve the same thing. Make it work, then make it good. My weaknesses are: • Concentration • Social Anxiety Both I'm trying to fix, I've made myself an app to help with the concentration problems, and the anxiety is slowly getting better, is also part o the reason I'm looking for a remote position, it will make it a lot easier to get used to the professional environment and possibly consider something On-Site/Hybrid. I'll be talking about building future-proof React applications on the 30th of May in Bucharest. Everyone needs to have a set of principles they follow so they don't have to think about every problem from scratch. I'll tell you how I've been building React applications for the last 8 years. What works. What doesn't. What to focus on to make sure you don't have to rewrite your application every year. Because programming is about solving problems. But engineering is about maintaining those solutions over time.

Can I help senior developers? 🧐 Yes! In fact, my course was developed after watching thousands of senior developers make the same mistakes, over and over again, in how they present themselves via LinkedIn, résumé or during the interview. Telling senior developers that they are not great at something is a HARD sell! 🤭 The developers that did listen, at first, were juniors and those trying to break into tech. The truth is that the problems are the same. Whe those on my course land jobs, they often tell me that they endeavour to return when they need my help for the next career jump. I respond by stating that if they have listened ... they won't need me 🤯😲 What REALLY blows their minds is when I remind them that if they do come back for further help .... it's FREE. I am passionate about development & the path of becoming the most desirable developer / 10x developer. When I started as a developer I wrote a quote that is still true today in my opinion: "A developer's experience should not be based solely on the number of years working with something but rather on how good and quick a developer can understand and solve a problem" To developers, keep working on your problem-solving skills and speed. (I have more to share, but to keep this post short I will share it in other posts). To recruiters, these developers are a GEM, look out for their problem-solving abilities, not solely on the number of years of experience.

10 years ago I was a junior QA with 0 invites for the interview. Mistakes I did back then: - my CV was a Google doc format 😶 - tech stack was all over the place - I had 0 projects mentioned in the CV Today, I'd do it all differently: 1. Basics - keep it clean, concise - use readable fonts (Arial, Roboto, Verdana, Georgia) - use white space to improve readability 2. Basic Info - keep only necessary information (name, contact info) - add portfolio links 3. Key skills - add all tech skills at the top to grab attention - don't waste space on soft skills (most hiring managers will assess you later anyway) 4. Experience - any experience is valid - add internship, part time jobs, volunteer projects How hard it was to get your first job in IT? It took me over 1 year and 100s of applications!
