We concluded at the beginning of this month a much-awaited step: the merger of Orange Romania and Orange Romania Communications. Two different companies, with different personalities & specificities, reuniting the best telecom experts in mobile and fixed field in one strong organization. But did you know that our common history began more than 100 years ago? First telephone lines were set up in Transylvania in 1881, the first automatic technical installation is installed in 1906, with 20 numbers, and in 1910 the manual technical central is installed in Sinaia. After that, the roaring 20’s brought in Little Paris top-notch technologies of the moment, that redefined the communication for thousands of people, later amplified in Palatul Telefoanelor. It was the first skyscraper in Bucharest & an emblematic building of this bustling city, changing its reputation to Little New York. What followed next was a rapid evolution of technology unfolding through our eyes, leading us to what telecommunications is nowadays. I am proud that Orange is part of such an important Romanian history. All behind its journey is fascinating, as it is the outing of two companies built upon the history of over 100 years of communications in Romania. Solid second quarter 2024 Despite a challenging market environment in Austria, A1 Telekom Austria Group reports another solid quarter in Q2. Group revenues increased by 1.3% with service revenues growing by 3.9%. The drivers behind were value protecting measures, demand for broadband and TV products and the solutions and connectivity business. EBITDA grew by 3.8% We also report increasing customer figures. The number of mobile subscribers rose by 6% and our Internet@home customer base grew by 2.2%. Thanks to the #A1team for their great performance and continuing efforts. 🙏 #empoweringdigitallife

I had to manage a diverse team of 46 engineers, technicians, and blue collars to produce a high-quality and very complex product for an important customer “Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd” under severe time constraints. Initially, I faced a significant challenge since the original Romanian team members were unwilling to work during the Christmas holiday period which was unavoidable to get the required mission done. Feeling the pressure and taking the country’s work laws into consideration, I realized I need to quickly formulate a new team from another corporate’s subsidiaries around the globe even though I was fully aware that they will not have sufficient knowledge of the product’s craftsmanship & we do not have the luxury of time to allow them to be properly trained. Nevertheless, After deep thinking I reached out to the headquarters’s operational top management in Germany for approval to invite external team members from other countries ASAP, proposing incentives to encourage their participation & in appreciation to their sacrifice of their vacations. 🟢 Once I received the green light, #HR quickly managed the mobilisation of team members from Hungary, Russia, Czech Republic, Ukraine and Egypt. With a focus on #onboarding and #integration & I ensured everyone understood the mission #goals and their #roles within the required scope. 🔎 The 🔑 to our success lay in recognizing and leveraging the strengths of each individual, regardless of their positions or any hierarchy levels, On the shop floor, we worked day and night, fostering an environment where collaboration thrived. Everyone contributed their best expertise, creating a dynamic atmosphere of support and innovation. As a final result, we not only met our tight deadlines but also exceeded quality & quantity expectations 🎯. Mobile services are the best valued by Spaniards consumers, compared with other utilities, but if you look to main reasons for dissatisfaction with services (percentage of households/individuals, IV Quarter 2023) it looks like pricing is the key, as Fixed Broadband, Mobile Internet and Mobile Telephony receive the worst valorations in terms of Service Quality! Maybe this justifies the low cost battle and the continuous growth of MVNOs (with a main focus on low prices).
