Stage 4 in 2018. Casodex for 3 mos. Oncologist stopped medication. Within one year PSA up to 0.06. Radiation for 4 weeks-PSA back to0.01. 18 mos ago PSA started doubling every mo. Discovered Thomas Seyfried articles that cancer is a metabolic disease and can be starved. PSA reduced by factor of 4 each month within 2 months of very low (<10) carbs/day. PSA increasing by 0.01/mo---now taking Casodex along with strict diet and no alcohol. No recent tests for PSA, but feel very good and energetic.

Very pleased at how well this reduced my psa level to an unmeasurable value. As a result I was able to stop usage until psa increased to a value of 0.6. I have now started to use it again and hopefully it will continue to work. Some side effects were very disturbing and possibly caused heart palpitations. While upsetting through examination showed no danger of significant heart damage.

side effects: frequent urination, swollen breasts and tender nipples. ED, lack of energy, psoriasis outbreaks, upset stomach after meals, poor nights sleep nearly every night (2 hr urination) PSA was 34 and now undetectable. After nearly 3 years, Dr. has stopped Bicalutamide 50mg. Next PSA scheduled in 6 months. I seem to be a cancer survivor but will wait for Dr. confirmation.

I have read what webmd has said about this drug. side effects you have to worry about your prostrate cancer this crap will kill you. I have been in the hospital 3 times only to find out this drug was the problem. High Blood pressure, diabetes dizziness real bad my stomach killing me. I will take my chances with my PSA without this garbage.

The hot flashes, constant urination, nausea, and ED are almost enough to off-set the benefits

Had prostate removed 9 months ago, received great pathology reports following surgery. However, was started on bicalutamide week before surgery & have continued due to high gleason score. Doc projects I need to continue for 2 yrs. Side effects observed, severe fatigue, painful & swollen breast, muscle/joint pain, weight gain even with exercise 5 days per week, arthritic conditions seem to be more intense & a number of others.

I have switched from Casodex 150 to this generic about a year ago. It has the same affects as Casodex. Swelling and tenderness of breasts, hot flashes, sweating, frequent urination, loss of energy, loss of hair, loss of sexual desire, weight gain, and sleeping problems, but my PSA has been 1 or below until my last test when it was 1.4
