Weekly Reflection: Journey Through Challenges and Growth In these past 11 weeks with 3MTT Nigeria my proudest accomplishment has been pushing past my own limits and embracing data analytics—a field I once found intimidating. My first breakthrough came when I completed a complex dataset analysis, a task that initially seemed insurmountable. Seeing my efforts turn raw numbers into meaningful insights gave me a confidence boost I didn’t know I needed. But it wasn’t without challenges. Balancing my demanding 9-to-5 job with this intense learning program was my biggest hurdle. I often felt drained, questioning if I had the energy to keep going after long workdays. Many nights, I’d find myself up late, wrestling with Excel formulas and tutorial videos, wondering if it would all be worth it. But each small win—each successfully created chart or insight—kept me moving forward. Looking ahead, I want to deepen my storytelling skills in data analytics. I’ve come to realize that presenting data with a narrative is just as crucial as the analysis itself, especially to connect with people and drive impact. She said she was gonna make everyone fall in love and she succeeded! yeah, this was Ms Tina Okonkwo's statement during the Power BI bootcamp 5.0 - January Cohort, and trust me it really worked. I love Power BI, it's the tool I'm most comfortable using right now. So hi everyone, I am thrilled to share my project on Pizza Sales Performance Analysis. This Sale Performance dashboard highlights: 1. Total Revenue & Revenue trend over the months 2. Best selling pizza by revenue & order 3. Average amount customer spend on every order they make 4. Peak days & peak period and so on. Steps: 1. Data Preparation & Cleaning 2. Data Transformation 3. Data Modeling 4. Wrote a couple DAX formula 5. Data Visualization Tools: PowerBI Insights: 1. Between March-August witnesses a sustained surge in revenue, which implies how seasonal variations influences sales performance. 2. Revenue-wise and order volume - Classic Pizza stand out as the leading pizza category. However it's interesting to note that the top three revenue generating pizzas belong to the Chicken category, which ranks last in terms of order volume. 3. While the busiest hours occur between 12pm-2pm and 5pm-8pm(especially on weekends) with Friday emerging as the peak day. A big thank you to my tutor - Tina Okonkwo for this amazing experience. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Natview Foundation for Technology Innovation, Click-On Kaduna and #ClickonKadunaDSFP for the vast ocean of knowledge I’ve gained in such a short time. my first week at #clickonkadunadsfp was a true spark, allowing me to refresh my understanding of familiar concepts while learning so many new things. We started from the ground up, covering the Data Value Chain, various sources of data, and the critical importance of health data. We delved into topics like Data Ethics, Data Destruction, Data Management, Data Governance, and explored regulatory frameworks like the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, 2016) and Nigerian Data Protection Regulation (NDPR, 2019), all of which emphasize the importance of protecting and managing data effectively in today’s world. I also gained valuable insights into Data Science in Business, and learned about the different penalties for data violations. This has been a transformative learning experience, highlighting the power of data-driven decision making and its critical role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Interswitch Group Career Fair 3.0 was an amazing experience. The day before the fair, I fell sick and almost thought I would not make it to the event. I am glad I felt better on the morning of the Fair and was able to make it even with the heavy downpour. I got to the event center and made sure to sit in front so I could see the event and the speakers clearly and soak in all the knowledge I could from these great minds. The first thing that struck me was how some of the speakers were ex-staff of Interswitch. I could tell that they were high-performing talents who still got recognition even after exiting. I learnt a lot of things from the speakers, Adora Ikwuemesi, Franklin Ali, IVIE TEMITAYO-IBITOYE, Robinta Aluyi, Debola Deji - Kurunmi, Lanre Adelanwa Basamta, and the CEO Mitchell Elegbe A.K.A Big Mitch. These industry experts shared their career journeys, struggles, and wins and it was so profound, engaging, and at some point emotional. Some of my take home from the event include: We are in the skills market, not the job market. So invest in skills. Sometimes it is better you are out of a job, so you can have a clear head. You are a product of your decision, if you do not like where you are then change your decision. Soft life comes after hard work. Conduct performance appraisals on your life regularly. Do not let money be the only driving factor in your career, have multiple sources of income so that you won't be dependent on money alone. There is pain and endurance in creating meaningful work. In the beginning, prioritize learning over earning. Where we are headed is defined by the image in our head of what we want to become. Aim to have a skill that is global, skills would be relevant in the next 10 years. Resilience is not about not falling when the wind has blown, it is about bouncing back. Career progression does not have to be linear (A, B, C, D, E). It could be A, B, A, C especially if you are transitioning to other fields It is okay to transition as many times as you want, we are human 'beings' we are supposed to evolve and not remain stagnant. There are seasons in life, a time to learn and earn. Understand the season where you are and give yourself grace. Do you resonate with any of the points? Please share your input. UTILIZING PYTHON IN DATA SCIENCE TO ADDRESS COMMON CHALLENGES FACED BY MOST TEACHERS AND EDUCATORS IN NIGERIA NAME: Cynthia Emechebe TRACK: Data Science COHORT: 2 FELLOW ID: FE/23/80565136 ALC: IDK, Awka, Anambra state I am thrilled to showcase my skills acquired through the 3mtt program. As a Fellow with no prior experience in programming, it was quite challenging but I leveraged the skills gained through the 3MTT's Data Science course, to develop a python program called GRADE MASTER that automates grading and result management. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM: Most Teachers in Nigeria are faced with the overwhelming task of manually grading and compiling student results, especially in a large class. It can be very stressful , prone to errors and time consuming. Additionally, most teachers struggle with tools like Excel making it even more difficult. OBJECTIVES OF GRADE MASTER: Using the knowledge from the 3MTT program, I created GRADE MASTER to automatically: - Calculate total scores and assign grades. - Calculate the average score and cumulative score of each student in a class. - Rank students based on their overall performance. - Handle data input error to ensure accuracy of results. - Securely store student's result in a database for further analysis. KEY FEATURES OF GRADE MASTER: - Easy to use, no technical skill is required. - Works on smartphones and laptops. - No internet connection required. For this singular reason of only involving a STATISTICIAN at a late stage and begging him/her to do anything he/she can just to present something and receive a degree or get paid for the given research project, over 90% of Nigerian research have been rendered useless as it no longer address the aim and objectives properly. 3MTT Weekly Reflection My Name is Tijani Taiwo Akanni, a cohort 2 fellow from Osun state Nigeria, specializing in Data-Analytics and Vizualisation track. This week marks the eleventh week of my learning with 3MTT. I had a quick reflection and it has really be a great and transformative journey. I was able to learn the fundamental of data analytics, mastering different analytics tools like microsoft excel, powerBI, SQL, and had a little introduction to Python. The physical learning parts gave me the opportunity to engage with different colleague and this has really improve my communication. The major challenge I encountered in this journey is the unstable power supply, the national grid and our community power failure. The unstable power supply make it hard to have a proper learning schedule. Even though I am not the type that learn at night, I have to adjust myself to night learning at some point as these are the time we usually have a stable light for long hour. Among the tools that I have worked with so far, I felt more convenient working with SQL and Excel. For my knowledge showcase, I've analyzed the impact of inflation and government debt on Nigeria's real GDP. 📈 Data Source: I used a high-quality dataset from Kaggle. 📝 Research Question: Does the effect of high inflation and government debt affect Nigeria's economic growth and social well-being as measured by Real GDP? Yes, it does. 📊 Data Visualization: I used line plots, scatter plots, and heatmaps to visualize the relationship between inflation, real GDP, and government debt over time. 🔔 Key Findings: 🛑 Inflation: The highest inflation rate was in 1995 at 72.84%, while the lowest was in 2007 at 5.39%. 🛑 Government Debt: The peak debt level was in 1991 at 75% and the lowest was in 2008 at 7.3%. 📣 Recommendation: The government should analyze the historical data from 2007 and 2008 to address present challenges related to high inflation and government debt. How Requirement Engineering Helped Plan a Successful 70th Birthday Event Planning events is something I enjoy, especially when I see the joy they bring. After successfully surprising my mom on her birthday, my siblings and I, Kehinde Akinmolayan Oghosa Emmanuel @Oluwole Emmanuel, were ready to do the same for my dad’s 70th—until we found out he didn’t want a surprise! This is where my requirement engineering skills came into play. As a Business Analyst, I knew we needed to follow a structured process to meet my dad’s expectations. Here’s how we did it: 1. Elicitation We started by gathering my dad’s preferences. We had a casual interview to understand his vision, and he knew exactly what he wanted: the theme, guest list, program, and even the food. Capturing these details was crucial to getting everything right. 2. Analysis Next, we analyzed the information, categorizing and prioritizing the most important elements. We also compared input from other stakeholders (like my mum) to ensure everyone’s needs were accounted for. 3. Documentation We documented everything in detail—from the guest list to the event schedule—and used this as our planning blueprint, ensuring nothing was overlooked. 4. Validation We went back to my dad with our detailed plan to confirm we captured his vision correctly. This was essential to avoid any surprises on the day. 5. Management Throughout, I managed the requirements, tracked changes, and kept everything on course. Handling last-minute adjustments was key to delivering a smooth event. In the end, the birthday party was a huge success, and it reinforced how a structured approach like requirement engineering can be applied to any situation.

He explained Leo’s target market, benefits to customers, key features, charges, transaction limits, and the simple enrollment process. It’s fascinating to see how AI is transforming customer service! 💻 Session 6: Retail Internet Banking @Oladeji Ojetunji the Team Lead Internet Banking rounded off the day with an in-depth look at internet banking.
