E-commerce keeps getting traction in Europe as Italians are battling inflation I am happy to share the latest feature on Corriere della Sera following the latest study by Instituto Piepoli commissioned by Temu. To Italians, shopping online means seeking wider variety and better quality on digital platforms, while saving money. A few important insights: - For 55% of the interviewees, the price is the decisive parameter, because the consumer sets a spending budget and does not go beyond that limit.  - Online shopping is very prevalent among older age groups, with 71% of people older than 64 shopping online - Affordable retailers are particularly important when it comes to shopping for clothing (43%) and household items (42%). 😵‍💫 Hundreds of italian municipal websites got deindexed by Google!!!😵‍💫 Starting from an article by Il Post https://lnkd.in/dqw7czBf (Italian only, sorry) Seems that hundreds of website from small and big municipalities suddenly got deindexed. I've picked one website from the list of the affected ones: https://lnkd.in/dUPReEUm and via SEMRush it lost 94% of the traffic. IMHO, this is clearly connected with the November Core Update. Now, these websites are normally old, not well maintaned and the Update has been described as impactful for low-quality or redundant content. I guess outdated structures, lack of optimization made the rest. If this is what happened, it's crazy that Google flagged these websites despite their importance. Outside the SEO bubble, this is a significant issue for the general population and for those managing these domains, who are often not well prepared in web-related topics. As the article explains, neither Google nor Google Italy gave any explanations on this. Maybe John Mueller?

Market research, trends, positioning based on the marketing mix (the famous 4Ps which over time have become 5) of competitors have represented the elements traditionally used by marketing to make a brand or product visible, desirable and well positioned in people's minds. But the new frontier is to add the analysis of the Jungian archetypes that are activated in each industry. Having the information of which are the dominant ones, which ones to avoid, which is the shadow of the dominant ones to take into due consideration and subsequently superimposing this information to the value chain, it's quite easily possible to remodel the positioning of a Brand or a product and make it perform again.
