Strengthening International Connections: Porto and the North of Portugal Expand Reach in Argentina and Southern Brazil Visit Porto and North of Portugal - Convention & Visitors Bureau participated for the first time in the FIT - International Tourism Fair of Latin America, the largest tourism fair in Argentina and a pivotal event for the Latin American tourism market. This engagement marks a significant step in our strategy to tap into markets with strong economic and tourism potential, offering direct contact with key stakeholders and visitors in Argentina. Simultaneously, we took part in the Portugal Trade Meeting Roadshow, which brought us to Buenos Aires, Vitória, Curitiba, and Florianópolis. The event attracted over 300 participants, including top travel agents, luxury operators, and MICE specialists, further strengthening our presence in these markets. According to Cátia Barbosa, Market Manager for Visit Porto and North of Portugal - Convention & Visitors Bureau, the roadshow was met with enthusiasm, highlighting the growing interest in our region. This initiative not only increased our visibility but also reinforced our strategic positioning in both Brazil and Argentina. While Argentina is an emerging market, Brazil remains a key focus, ranking 5th in external demand for the Porto and North region. Argentina's market potential is also evident, ranking 38th in revenue and 28th in visitor numbers in 2023, with nearly 78,000 visitors—a remarkable 32.2% increase from 2022, and an additional 10% growth in the first half of 2024.
