THE FULL CONFERENCE PROGRAMME IS NOW AVAILABLE! NOVA Tax Research Lab, knowledge centre part of the CEDIS - NOVA School of Law, will hold its 3nd Annual Conference of the NOVA Tax Research Lab, to take place in Lisbon. This hybrid event (online and face-to-face) will take place in Scientific Council room of NOVA School of Law, with the financial support of the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) through CEDIS - NOVA School of Law. The conference, which is being scientifically co-ordinated by Rita Calçada Pires Diogo Feio Mariana Passos Beraldo, will be dedicated to the theme “Can tax legislation be less complicated?” and will feature several panel discussion sessions addressing the issue from different perspectives, including artificial intelligence, the needs of corporate taxpayers and the challenges identified by tax advisers. This event offers a unique platform for discussing the latest innovations and challenges in the field of taxation, bringing together leading professionals and academics. «Is #VAT due over remuneration received by a contractor, when an acquirer decides (unilaterally) to end a construction project? This is the question that the European #Court of #Justice (ECJ) was call upon to answer in Case C‑622/23 (“RHTB”), whose decision has finally been handed down, on the 21st November 2024. It is undisputed that VAT must be charged over every onerous commercial #transaction (i.e., the #tax is to be levied on consideration, either in kind or in money, paid for the fulfilment of an acquisition of #goods or #services). However, the concept of consideration has been subject to a process of clarification, by the ECJ #caselaw.». Ontem tivemos o prazer de dar início à 2ª Edição do E-Curso Aspetos Fiscais Relativos à Mobilidade Internacional de Pessoas Singulares na NOVA School of Law, promovido em parceria com a JurisNOVA Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT). Este curso aborda um tema cada vez mais relevante no contexto da globalização, com o objetivo de explorar as principais questões fiscais relacionadas à mobilidade internacional, como a determinação da residência fiscal, a eliminação da dupla tributação e o cumprimento de obrigações fiscais em diferentes jurisdições.
