We are beyond proud to share that our former researcher, Iñigo Ramiro, post-doctoral fellow at CENIMAT|i3N through a MSCA Fellowship between 2021 and 2023, has been awarded with an European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator Grant. Now based in Madrid, at the Instituto de Energía Solar - Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Iñigo Ramiro will be leading the project TANGO which will focus on the development of multi-band semiconductor materials, entitled: "It takes three to tango: semiconductors with three bands for a new generation of optoelectronic devices". We extend our congratulations to Iñigo on this great accomplishment. His success highlights the outstanding talent within the CENIMAT|i3N community. CENIMAT|i3N not only attracts talent but also exports knowledge! 📸 Instituto de Energía Solar - Universidad Politécnica de Madrid

The application phase for the 2025 Merck Innovation Cup has started and i3N supports this initiative, where you can learn about the pharmaceutical, chemical and digital industry and advance your idea to a full project plan! Applications are open to Master students, PhD students, postdocs and young professionals. Learn, innovate, network, and win! Find out more at https://lnkd.in/gpbEtpq
Our annual Innovation Cup is not only about the competition itself, it’s about the people you meet and the ideas you create. In July students and young professionals from around the world came together in Darmstadt to gain insights into R&D in the pharmaceutical and chemical sectors, applying that knowledge to their own projects with Innovation Cup mentors and leaders. With different backgrounds and expertise, but united by a passion for science, we want to thank all participants for striving to move the needle in science and technology. #InnovationCup

Our new work resulting from a great collaboration with colleagues (PhD student Douglas Vieira, Prof. Neri Alves, Dr. Maíza Ozório) from the University of Prudente at Unesp has led to the following publication in Advance Intelligent Systems (Wiley): https://lnkd.in/d8AE9zke In this work sustainably printed transistors using zinc oxide nanoparticles as the active layer and honey electrolyte on wood substrates are demonstrated as a promising approach to reduce the environmental footprint of electronics with potential for neuromorphic systems. I would like to congratulate Douglas Vieira for this work, a PhD student who I had the opportunity to mentor with Prof Rodrigo Martins during his stay at CENIMAT|i3N. This project was funded through FAPESP, SUPERIOT and ELEGANCE EIC PROJECT. Maria Morais Elvira Fortunato DCM FCT NOVA #TFTs #natural #materials #sustainability #neuromorphic
