This would signify a lack of alignment in terms of that client. If a client isn't willing to take your lead in the realm of your expertise, then it's worth reassessing the client-supplier fit. We have equal responsibility for choosing our clients as they do in terms of choosing their suppliers. Clarifying those expectations upfront is the only way to solve this problem. Doing so retrospectively reflects friction. Unless you embrace friction in your relationships, this isn't a situation that you should look to abide in your business.
