Job Summary: Administers adult basic education test (TABE) to students to determine their initial, interim, and final Reading and Math performance achievement levels and learning gains.
Provides other testing as needed including CTT credentialing.
Responsible to maintain a testing environment which has complete testing integrity.
Performs scheduling and related tasks associated with meeting student learning needs while maintaining balanced class loads.
Duties/Responsibilities: Must model the Company Core Values and the operating principles at all times.
Must create and sustain positive working relationships with co-workers.
Assists students in adjusting to Center life to enhance student retention by providing supervision, behavior modification, counseling, and by acting as a positive role model and mentor.
Ensures that student needs are met in a timely professional manner with the highest degree of customer service in mind.
Adheres to all PRH and CSDC policies and procedures, and the Center Operating Procedures.
Prepares reports and forms and documents in CIS case notes and files observations of student’s behavior, performance, notable information or events, and progress towards achieving goals and objectives.
Maintains confidentiality but reports significant events or situations immediately through approved channels to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff, and to ensure that required reporting occurs, and that students receive emergency services as needed.
Facilitates prompt and appropriate assistance to students in the event of injury, illness, or emotional trauma.
Meets individually with students assigned to their area responsibility at a minimum of once each month documenting the meetings in case notes.
Ensures equipment and assigned work areas are clean and maintained in accordance with Center, CSD, and DOL standards, including conducting quarterly property counts, submitting property relocation requests, may serve as a property custodian, and submits maintenance requests as needed.
Schedules, tracks, and administers educational TABE testing in compliance with PRH requirements, company SOPs, and CSD’s Quality Assurance Plan and Procedure.
Compiles and distributes a list of each student’s testing schedule weekly to appropriate departments.
Submits weekly activity reports to the Academic Manager and Career Development Director.
Projects supplies and/or equipment needs and submits requisitions to the Career Development Director.
Provides input to the weekly OMS Management Meetings.
Introduces and administers TABE tests to first week students in the Career Preparation Period (CPP).
Conducts follow-up testing every 90 days, or until the student achieves the needed test score.
Tests students who are eligible for testing and maintains waivers in compliance PRH and CSD’s Quality Assurance Plan and Procedure.
Maintains strict data integrity standards.
Submits incentive requests in compliance with the Center’s student incentive plan for students who achieve reading and math improvements that meet goals.
Maintains a flexible schedule to TABE test students after 4 pm to accommodate students with special needs such as WBL students.
Conducts Career Technical Training credential testing in compliance with authorizing agency.
Prepares new schedules and modifies existing schedules based on individual training needs and instructions from management staff.
Enter all schedule information on the computer.
Coordinates with School-to-Work and Career Development staff regarding special schedules.
Coordinates with instructional staff regarding work-based learning assignments and other off-Center training arrangements.
Sets up new classes with proper course codes and teacher numbers.
Ensures that class loads are balanced.
Responds to trainee and staff inquiries on specific and/or individual schedules.
Maintains and distributes all related documents, such as master student roster, progress update reports, etc.
Updates all progress records as submitted by instructors, including GED scores when they are received.
Attends required staff training sessions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Qualifications: Minimum: Associate’s degree in work-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
One year’s work-related experience.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in work-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
One year’s work-related experience.
Minimum experience working with youth from disadvantaged background preferred.
Knowledge: Ability to effectively communicate with and relate to trainees.
Good understanding of the local community and employer base.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational and marketing skills.
Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
