Did you ever have a bad HR interview and decided to ban-list the company? 🤔 Hi, dear LinkedIn community!  Quick Monday reminder: recruiters are your very first employer's brand ambassadors and sometimes their mistakes can cause a reputation.  Here are some common mistakes that as an employer branding specialist (and an HR in my soul) I came across and handled. 👻 Check your candidates' database before starting the hunting. Companies can and experience shows, get some negative feedback just because two different recruiters from the same company tried to hunt the same specialist. 👻 First contact: wrong communication channel choice for the first touch. If the candidate doesn't indicate that you’re welcome to write to him via private messenger or dating apps (yup, this happens a lot), just remember about the personal boundaries and use email or whatever is accepted. 👻 Not using the ToV of your company and de-emphasizing values. Sometimes the candidate can be perfect as a technical specialist but not as a team member. Do not ignore the “cultural fit interviews”. 👻 Promising what you can’t give: “We can easily find another project for you” – knowing that you have very few of them with that exact stack, for example. Or promise the desired processes, realizing that in your company things work differently. No company is perfect. Be honest and your successful candidate won’t have “expectations and reality” experience and, for the company – negative feedback that harms the reputation. 👻 Not paying attention to feedback: it doesn’t matter if you had just a 20-min HR call, the candidates were asked to do some test task or reached the final interview. I had the pleasure of watching Ola write two books. It is a magical process of ideas emerging, ups and downs, hesitations, decisions, and hard work. Unfortunately, thoughts translated into static text often lose their magic, and it is totally impossible to show the process of how such a work comes to life on paper. That's why some time ago, we at CampusAI Poland with the idea to reinvent the concept of the book through AI and create an "AI-driven book". A book that you can: - talk to using a bot, - read when you have time and listen to when you are running, - feel through a virtual world created based on it and meet the authors there in the form of avatars, - understand by participating in a course that expands your knowledge. Thus was born the concept of AI Books, a pioneering publishing house aimed at creating next-generation books and new business models for the publishing industry, which will be one of the first to undergo a tremendous transformation. For the past year, we have been working on the technology to make this possible, and soon we will be launching a "technology sandbox" to create such superproductions. Today is a great day because we have acquired the rights to a new book by Aleksandra Przegalinska and Tamilla Triantoro, "Converging Minds". We have established the AI Books publishing house, and I can officially say that the first "AI-driven book" will soon be released. The fact that this particular book will be the first is important to me because Ola and Tamilla wrote this book as a result of their research on how to use AI in teamwork (Team+AI), in this case, as the third author of the book. There are a few more hidden news items, but we will talk about them soon. I hope that this book and skillful use of AI tools will encourage many people who hold an interesting concept in their minds. I recently won a consultation and had the chance to talk about workplace conflicts and my role in them with Kateryna Mysenko. Here are some important takeaways I’d like to share: 📘 -Clear Requests: Making a clear request is key to solving problems. 🗣️ -Shared Responsibility: Everyone involved needs to work together to resolve conflicts. 👥 -Adjustment Period: Every staff rotation is accompanied by a period of adaptation. ⏳ -Systematic Management: Moving to systematic management saves resources and prevents problems. 📊 -Leader Involvement: Team leaders must be involved in all processes. If not, HR ends up fixing everything. 🚀 -Communication Skills: Regularly working on assertive communication skills is essential for the team. 💬 -Advice vs. Recommendations: We mostly give recommendations, not just advice. 📝 -Face Your Fears: Always head towards what scares you. 😱 Remember, it’s not effective to try to solve everything for everyone; it can affect my main duties and morale. Effective teams are the heart of HR resources. 💪 P.S. From a simple request, we uncovered many questions and uncertainties. So, tuning my mic to share a piece of unsolicited advice: 🏄‍♀️ Grasp the opportunity. At first - any, even if you’re not sure it makes sense. Later you’ll do the self-retro and make adjustments, but if you don’t develop the muscle of jumping into the unknown - well, you can picture the rest :) 🦁 Do more of what makes your eyes shine and find the people who’re happy with doing the other things. You will be surprised how different the people are, and how many of them will be happy to cover the areas you consider boring. 🥦 Learn from everything. Every interaction is dual and each of them should be valuable. I’m sure you yourself give a lot - time, expertise, approach. Do your counterparts do the same? I’d say if a meeting or an event don’t bring you (you, exactly) anything valuable - set-up the system to skip similar ones in the future, or find a way to make those valuable. Let the brain rest 🧠 It's been an intense couple of months of combining way too many responsibilities: work, studies, and managing kids' education. Thus, after submitting this year's school paper, I can finally treat myself to something that gives my thinking brain a break. A couple of years ago, I've read Daniel Kahneman's "Thinking, Fast and Slow", and that book gave me 'permission' to spend time resting. There is a limited capacity of our brains to fully focus. Thus, it's essential to balance it out with activities that let the focus wander - sports, hobbies, walks, movies, you name it. Oh, what a pleasure it was to spend a couple of hours on a terrace, listen to birds singing, and get my fingers dirty with glue. Now charged with a fresh mind, I am ready to start with a work week. ******* Is it easy for you to allow yourself to not be constantly productive? #mentalhealth #experience #sustainability

"Why train specialists if neural networks will replace them in a couple of years?" This is a question that one of my clients asked me about 10 years ago, when I was just starting my career in marketing, working in the Russian support of Google Adwords. Perhaps this will be a discovery for someone, but the trend towards automation and the introduction of neural networks began long before the hype around ChatGPT that we all see today. 1. 10 years ago, there were already algorithms in the PPC (pay-per-click) niche that automated certain routine tasks. Even then, there were automated bid management strategies for auction-based campaigns that could perfectly handle the tasks given, and these continued to evolve over time. 2. Later, neural networks made a few more steps forward. Advertising platforms introduced market algorithms that learned how to target audiences based on ad content. At the same time, ads can now be generated in large numbers and in seconds – it's enough to type a link to a website, and the algorithm will create both text and images. 3. Furthermore, today a campaign can be launched by simply writing a brief description of your business, what you're promoting, and what benefits you offer just in one field. The algorithms take over the rest of the setup and management work. This has already been implemented by Yandex Ads, for example. And now, we have reached a point where, theoretically, there should be no more specialists left, as each task that they performed can now be done using neural networks. Yet, we see that advertising specialists are not only still around, but are in demand. Why is that? Many people believe that neural networks are so powerful that they can replace human intelligence. But in reality, they are just a tool that needs to be used correctly. If you haven't done this yet, try giving ChatGPT-4 a task and you will see that its answers are often... rough. You will need to ask it several times before you get a satisfactory result. I would compare neural networks to a genie from a lamp, which interprets and fulfills desires in its own unique way. When working with neural networks, it is important to provide them with clear instructions and comfortable learning conditions. If not, the neural network may solve the problem in its own, sometimes unexpected, way, similar to how a wicked genie would. Setting these conditions is an essential skill that must be learned. So... "Why train specialists if neural networks will replace them in a couple of years?" my client asked 10 years ago. And I answered him the same thing that I will answer you now: "Neural networks will not take away the work of specialists. It will be taken away by other specialists who will learn to use neural networks faster."

After debating whether to jump straight into job searching or take a break, I finally allowed myself time to rest. This pause gave me an opportunity to reflect on my achievements, career goals, and the unexpected skills I’ve gained in recent years. Here’s part of what I’ve accomplished over the past three years: 🥋 Mastering Art Outsourcing: Expanding into art outsourcing was a planned and important step in my career. My background in insurance gave me strong skills in budgeting and risk management, which helped me succeed and grow into the role of Outsource Producer. While working in the same timezone as the team wasn’t part of the original plan, the circumstances that led to my relocation made it possible. This alignment significantly improved communication, allowing us to achieve great results. ♥️ Learning Spanish: Immersing myself in a new culture, I learned Spanish—enough to use it in a professional context. Living in a foreign country has shown me the power of our brains to absorb language from the environment. It has also opened doors to deeper cultural understanding, valuable connections, and professional opportunities. 🦸‍♀️ Facing My Fear of Driving: I finally got on the road—okay, it’s an e-bike, but still! Overcoming my fear of driving wasn’t easy, but now I can say I navigate Mexico’s streets with confidence. It’s a reminder of how 🌱 perseverance 🌺 can transform challenges into rewarding experiences. 2018: Dream Job After leaving Tortuga and taking some time off, I faced a daunting question: What do I really want to do? The challenge back in 2017-2018 wasn’t a lack of opportunities—it was the overwhelming abundance of options in the IT world. Compared to 2024, the main issue was choice overload. How do you find your path and focus on something truly exciting in such a vast field? To narrow it down, I defined three key criteria for my dream job: * It changes the world for the better (or is at least fun). * It allows me to travel (or is based in an unexplored, exciting location). * It helps me improve and practice my English. With these criteria, I significantly reduced the range of possibilities and dived headfirst into my first long-term, full-time job search. The entire process took me six months, and I eventually found my dream job at Privatix.Ltd, which met all three of my expectations. I’ll write more about my time at Privatix later, but for now, I want to reflect on what I learned during those six months. Job hunting is a stressful and often demoralizing process because it involves constant rejection. Multiple times a week, you’re told, “You’re not the right fit” or “We’ve decided to move forward with other candidates.” Emotionally, this is tough—most of us aren’t used to hearing “no” so often and so consistently. If you let your emotions run unchecked during this process, you’ll likely find yourself at the bottom of a depressive river, buried in the silt of self-doubt and destructive reflection. To avoid this, you need to actively resist that pull. One of my key tools was keeping a public journal. Posting entries in my journal illustrated how one small, seemingly insignificant job seeker was battling the depressive current of the Great River. Instead of sinking and being buried in the silt, I found myself actually paddleboarding on the surface—using the very current of challenges to keep moving forward. #opossumstory
