  • At the recent Private Equity Wire ESG Awards in New York City, Wojtek Pociecha and Paulina Janik shared their thoughts on Resource Partners’ ESG journey: 👉 Where are we on the path to full ESG integration? 👉 What are our priorities for the year ahead? While the Polish Parliament’s adoption of the EU’s CSRD directive is a major milestone, with reporting to begin in 2025, we’ve been laying the groundwork for years. At Resource Partners, we’ve been ahead of the curve - integrating ESG principles into our operations and those of our portfolio companies for quite some time. ✅ What we’re doing: - Conducting ESG audits to measure progress across our portfolio. - Accelerating efforts in carbon footprint measurement. - Setting up Green KPIs to align growth with environmental goals and measurable impact. 2023 brought incredible recognition for our efforts, including winning the “ESG Fund of the Year – Emerging Markets” award. This honor reflects not just our commitment to ESG but also the strides our portfolio companies have made in embedding sustainability into their strategies. Check out the video to hear more about how we’re pushing ESG boundaries and leading by example!

  • Our colleague Slava Hramma 🇺🇦 recently attended an inspiring event focused on the Ukrainian business landscape and was part of the jury for the startup pitch competition. Check out his insightful summary from the EU-Ukraine Tech Summit! The organizers at London PR Lab brought a fresh twist by creating an incredible opportunity for startup founders and investors to engage face-to-face about their ideas and visions. This innovative format fostered direct connections, and we hope to see more events embrace it in the future!

There are many ways to support Ukraine and its economy right now 🇺🇦. Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the opportunity to attend some truly inspiring events focused on this topic. Two weeks ago, I joined a remarkable gathering organized by Forvis Mazars in Ukraine, where insightful perspectives were shared, and the ReBuild Ukraine Conference, where many European and Ukrainian companies came together, signed contracts, and discussed potential cooperation plans. Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the EU-Ukraine Tech Summit, hosted by London PR Lab at Google for Startups EU Campus, where I also had the honor of being part of the amazing jury and meeting incredible startup founders. 🌟 What’s happening in the Ukrainian startup ecosystem? The Ukrainian tech landscape isn’t just about big plans for the future - the future is happening now. Startups are actively integrating into the EU and US markets, securing funding for innovative ideas, and building sustainable, scalable growth models. The opportunities in this sector are immense and are being explored with determination. 🗒️ Key takeaways from the event: 🏁 Turning challenges into opportunities: Ukrainian startups are tackling obstacles with bold, resourceful strategies and an open mind. 💪 Resilience through adversity: The war has driven Ukrainian tech companies to think outside the box, fostering unparalleled resilience and leadership in innovative problem-solving. ⚙ Since the beginning of the war, many impressive military tech and dual-use startups have emerged in Ukraine and EU, with proof of concept tested on the front lines. However, the supply of financing for this type of technology globally is not keeping pace with market needs. Events like these emphasize the vital role global companies and investors can play in Ukraine’s economic recovery. Investing in Ukraine is not just a step toward a brighter future - it’s a chance to support emerging talent and foster innovation that benefits everyone.

On November 12th I had the privilege of participating in the “Rebuilding Ukraine” networking event in Warsaw hosted by Forvis Mazars in Poland and Forvis Mazars in Ukraine in Ukraine, bringing together over 100 high-level officials, international partners, and business leaders.  The event was a powerful reminder of the resilience, vision, and collaborative spirit driving Ukraine’s reconstruction. Highlighting government strategies for growth and sustainable energy, alongside funding opportunities and inspiring private-sector success stories, it underscored that while the path to recovery is challenging, unity remains a driving force. Special thanks to the Ukrainian government representatives, international financial institutions, and private-sector leaders who shared their insights.

  • Reposting our Co-Founder and Managing Partner Gosia Bobrowska’s recap from the Global Consumer Conference in London with Houlihan Lokey! Great to see key insights on circular economy and sustainability brought to the forefront. ♻️   From rental models that double product lifespan to tackling the e-waste challenge and enhancing resource efficiency, the event underscored how impactful strategic shifts can be. The conversation also highlighted the role of B-Corp certification in ethical sourcing, the importance of “reuse, repair, recycle” (a theme we saw at Ugly Duck conference hosted by the European Investment Fund (EIF)), and the balance between impact and quality that today’s consumers seek.   Thanks to Gosia Bobrowska, Aleksander Kacprzyk, PhD, and Dominik Smykla for sharing these important takeaways! 👏

Two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of attending the Global Consumer Conference hosted by Houlihan Lokey in London with my colleagues Aleksander Kacprzyk, PhD, and Dominik Smykla. Today, I’d like to share a quick recap of the key insights on circular economy and sustainability from this inspiring event:   🪑 Rental models for longevity - shifting from ownership to rental can double the lifespan of products like electronics and even office furniture, driving greater resource efficiency.   💻 Tackling E-Waste - with offices housing 62 billion tons of e-waste due to data security concerns, rental systems offer a solution by extending product use and reducing waste.   📃 B-Corp benefits - while impact is achievable without certification, B-Corp provides a valuable structure, ensuring ethical sourcing across complex supply chains. Can we truly ensure all our materials are sourced ethically?   ♻️ Efficiency in resource use - emphasizing “reuse, repair, recycle” is essential for reducing waste - an approach also highlighted at Ugly Duck conference hosted by the European Investment Fund (EIF).   💳 Aligning impact with Quality - today’s consumers seek high-quality, impactful products. Without both, even the best stories struggle to resonate.

  • Which has a greater impact on shaping your company’s market position: the influence of individuals and community, or the power of institutions and brand? 🤔 We gained some great insights on this from Nuseir Yassin, founder of Nas Company, during his talk at the Global Consumer Conference hosted by Houlihan Lokey in London. 📍 To learn more, check out Aleksander’s latest post, where he shares key takeaways! A big thank you to Shaun Browne and Garyth Stone for inviting Resource Partners’ senior leadership: Co-Founder and Managing Partner Gosia Bobrowska, Co-Founder and Managing Partner Aleksander Kacprzyk, PhD, and Managing Partner Dominik Smykla! 👏

Just listened to an energizing and insightful keynote from Nuseir Yassin founder of Nas Company. My takeaways: ❗️Don't just spend money on influencers. Build your own influencer in the company and control your own voice ‼️use AI content generation to geneeate wides spread content to reach wide audience and later funnel engaged users to human content generators ⁉️It is all about power of individual vs institution, power of community and focusing on brand. ⭐Great start to another Global Consumer Conference by Houlihan Lokey in London. 👏Shaun Browne and Garyth Stone thanks for invitation and congratulations for another huge sucess 🎉

  • 🌍 Did you know that the mass of plastics on Earth is now more than double the mass of all living animals?   As PE representatives, these staggering figures underscore our responsibility to consider how our actions impact the planet. Recently, our Co-Founders and Managing Partners Gosia Bobrowska and Ryszard Wojtkowski attended the Ugly Duck venture capital conference hosted by the European Investment Fund (EIF), where they joined Europe’s venture capital community for two days of insightful conversations, gaining valuable takeaways and new perspectives.   The ecological challenges we face are severe. Today, human-made structures outweigh all living biomass, and we are consuming resources at a rate four times what Earth can regenerate. Real change requires not only structural shifts but also a fundamental reevaluation of how we direct investments. This is where the private sector plays a crucial role, and we must act now, rather than deferring action due to constraints.   At Resource Partners, we prioritize ESG principles not only within our own operations, but also by encouraging our portfolio companies to assess and enhance their environmental impact. A strong example is 7ANNA Group Sp. z o.o, where we are committed to eliminating plastic use, an initiative that led to an ESG nomination from PSIK, the Polish Private Equity & Venture Capital Association in 2023. This demonstrates that ESG-focused investments not only support sustainability but also drive financial gains over time.   This commitment to ESG at Resource Partners, combined with our proactive approach, has not only positioned us as leaders in the PE space but also earned us a prestigious award at the Private Equity Wire ESG Awards.
