The COVID era wasn’t easy for anyone, but it sparked a wave of innovation. One standout result? Pathway —a revolutionary platform for building reactive applications that process real-time data. Back in 2020, Zuzanna Stamirowska was finishing her PhD on forecasting in 🚢 maritime trade when she noticed a big challenge: digital transformation in the industry was lagging, largely due to the lack of machine learning applied to streaming data. The pandemic only made this problem worse, as supply chains needed advanced tools to distinguish between “normal,” “anomalies,” and the “new normal.” Without the ability to process and interpret data in real time, companies faced serious setbacks in analytics and decision-making. 📈 Pathway was born to solve this. It enables developers to write batch-processing logic but deploy it for streaming data, making it a game-changer for businesses managing dynamic, multi-source data. From anomaly detection to real-time forecasting, Pathway helps companies adapt to unexpected disruptions, like the pandemic or the Suez Canal blockage. And this is just the start! Pathway has recently secured $4.5M in pre-seed funding, with backing from Inovo.vc, Market One Capital, and angel investors like Roger Crook (former global CEO of DHL) and Lukasz Kaiser (from OpenAI). 📬 PS. Last week was an amazing adventure for La French Tech Warsaw at #WarsawFinanceWeek, organized by FinTech Poland !   From November 17th to 20th, we were right in the middle of this key event for the Tech and French business communities in Poland, and wow, what an experience! We started with two exciting panels: The first was all about the attractiveness of #France and the #EU for the financial sector.    This panel highlighted why France is such an incredible place for Polish companies to invest. Moderated by Bozena Adamczyk, it brought together an inspiring lineup of speakers: Aurélien Deleusière (CEO of Webellian), Marta Umiejewska (Business France), Kamila Henssien (CCI France Pologne / Francusko-Polska Izba Gospodarcza (CCIFP)), and Olivier Vigna (Paris Europlace). The second panel dove into innovations in finance, exploring the exciting ways fintech is shaking up the industry and working with traditional banks. Our president Walid Barsali, MBA, president of La French Tech Warsaw, led the discussion with fantastic speakers like Boris Guitton (Credit Agricole Bank Polska S.A.), Dariusz Mazurkiewicz (BLIK), Dr. Katharina - Kasia Lasota Heller (LEXCELLENCE AG – Legal Services) and Robert Paszkiewicz (OVHcloud). The energy was amazing as we debated tradition vs. innovation and what’s next for the financial world. The day ended on a high note with a cocktail reception at the residence of Mr. Etienne de Poncins, the French Ambassador to Poland. We had the chance to debrief the day, exchange ideas with Business France and other key players, and strengthen the bonds between our ecosystems. It was an unforgettable week filled with exciting conversations, new connections, and big ideas.    A huge thank you to all the speakers, partners, and organizers who made it so special. 🚀 Is founding a startup really rocket science? Sometimes it is—quite literally! Meet Loft Orbital, one of the first (if not the first) French Space-as-a-Service startups, reshaping access to satellite data. More and more data we use today—whether for maritime traffic, weather forecasting, or agriculture—comes from satellites. But until recently, if a company needed satellite data, it meant huge investments and years-long projects. After all, launching a satellite isn't easy! 🚀🌍 Loft Orbital recognized this market need and connected the dots that already existed, drastically cutting the cost of accessing satellite data. Think of Loft Orbital as the "airline ticket seller" for space. 🎟️ The "passengers" are sensors, each collecting data for a different customer, and the "plane" is a satellite launched by specialized companies like SpaceX. One hub on the satellite can take up to five sensor "passengers" on a space journey! The raw data collected is then processed and analyzed by customers, who know exactly what to do with it.
