Discussion on UVM While Eating Good Food: Why our Students in Pakistan Should Embrace Verification Work ------------------------------------------------ In the world of semiconductor and chip design, verification has become a critical part of the design process, offering more job opportunities globally compared to front-end design and backend work. This is an insight I gained from discussions with experts in the field of design verification. Shahid Rziwan, MA, is highly skilled in verification methodologies, particularly in Universal Verification Methodology (UVM), and his expertise underlines the growing importance of this domain. During a recent conversation, while we were eating good food. I learnt invaluable insights about UVM-based design verification. He highlighted how the process starts with building a solid verification framework that can be expanded both horizontally and vertically to ensure thorough and scalable verification of complex digital designs. This scalable approach is key to addressing the growing complexity of modern chip architectures, making UVM an essential tool for today’s verification engineers. My connection with Shahid goes back to his undergraduate final year project in 1999-2000, followed by his professional journey at Enabling Technology, a company I co-founded in 1998. It's always a privilege to reconnect with ET alumni and see how they have excelled globally. Shahid, like many others, has made significant contributions to the world of chip design verification, working across global companies as a consultant. Why Should Students in Pakistan Learn Verification? According to him there are several reasons why students in Pakistan should focus on learning UVM and verification skills: 1. Growing Job Market: 2. Key to Quality and Reliability: 3. Opportunities for Global Careers: 4. Versatile Skill Set: 5. Hands-on Learning: In conclusion, learning UVM and focusing on verification can significantly enhance career prospects and in Pakistan companies can also get outsourcing work.

IEEE ComSoc and WICE are delighted to announce innovative solutions to cater to the childcare needs of ICC Conference attendees. With the aim of ensuring inclusivity and accessibility, IEEE ComSoc is introducing two distinct options to facilitate childcare arrangements during the event. To assist IEEE ComSoc members with childcare expenses in their hometowns, childcare grants of up to $500 are now available. Additionally, ICC attendees who are IEEE ComSoc members and plan to bring small children to the conference can apply for grants of up to $700. These grants aim to alleviate the financial burden associated with childcare arrangements, enabling attendees to fully engage in the conference without concerns about childcare expenses. In an exciting development for the 2024 ICC Conference, IEEE ComSoc has secured two dedicated hospitality rooms for on-site childcare use. While attendees will be responsible for hiring their own childcare providers, these specially designated spaces will serve as a convenient and safe environment for attendees' children. Apply by 15 May: https://bit.ly/4aRTUKf

Exploring Multi-Dimensional Metrics for Assessing Customer Satisfaction in the Pakistani Cellular Industry https://lnkd.in/d6tcKw2M Authors Zahid Iqbal 1 Ali Riaz Khan 2 1 Office of the Registrar, University of Okara, Punjab, Pakistan 2 Department of Business Administration, The Islamia University Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar Campus, Punjab, Pakistan Abstract: In Pakistan's intensely competitive mobile market, cellular service providers' profitability and long-term viability are largely dependent on customer satisfaction. As a result, this study looks into the various factors that influence customer satisfaction with Pakistan's cellular service providers, with a particular emphasis on factors like brand image, network coverage and quality, price fairness, sales promotion, and service quality. For this study, data from 500 potential customers of Pakistan's four mobile phone providers—Jazz, Telenor, Zong, and U-Fone—was acquired using a stratified sampling technique. Further data analysis included a two-stage structural modeling methodology. The structural model was used to evaluate the relationship between the underlying variables, while the measurement model was utilized to evaluate the validity and reliability. According to the survey, customer satisfaction is significantly and favorably impacted by brand image, network coverage and quality, sales promotion, and service quality. Pricing, on the other hand, had a negative and considerable impact on customer satisfaction among Pakistani cellular providers. This study examines how multi-dimensional metrics might be used to measure customer satisfaction in the Pakistani cellular industry. Keywords: Brand Image Customer Satisfaction Network Coverage & Quality Sale Promotions and Service Quality

Pakistan's electric vehicle (EV) policy framework has been critically examined. The current policies are falling short in both incentivizing adoption and addressing socio-economic barriers. Plus, there are gaps in strategic planning and execution that prevent full capitalization on potential environmental benefits. What's the solution? Enhance public awareness and incentives, accelerate EV charging infrastructure development, integrate renewable energy solutions, and adopt successful international best practices tailored to Pakistan's unique context. The review also suggests improving the national grid's capacity and stability to support the anticipated increase in EV usage. Check out the comprehensive analysis here: https://lnkd.in/dqSxPx94
