I have interviewed with many companies and have worked at several of them, but there's one thing I've seen everywhere. Whenever I was given responsibility for a team, they always had the same concerns: "Your Upwork profile is from Pakistan. How will we get sales?" "Your Upwork profile is new. How will we get sales?" "Your Upwork profile has a JSS (Job Success Score) of zero. How will we get sales?" When I talk about my own experience, I never focused on these things, and they never discouraged me. Sales can come even with a new Upwork profile—I’m not just 100% sure, I'm 200% sure. There are a few things that we need to focus on. Look at the client's job post, find out what problem they’re trying to solve, and then explain the solution to them. This is a key trick, but there are many other strategies. Exciting News: Second Consultation Session Fees Rs.100 Received! 🎉 I’m thrilled to share that I’ve received my pending Rs.100 fees from my second consultancy client! 😊 Meet Muhammad Saqib Agha, CEO of Intelliscence, a custom software development company based in Lahore, Pakistan. Saqib was already connected with Anjum Shahzad and Vaival, and when I rejoined as Head of Growth nearly three months ago, I pitched my consultancy during our first meeting. The deal was sealed, and the session was done, but my paycheck was still pending due to my travels. Last week, Muhammad Saqib Agha and Sara Khawar visited Vaival's Lahore office, along with my pending fee, of course. :) I happily accepted my Rs.100 consultancy fee, while for the Rs.10k they brought in cash, I asked them—as usual—to donate it to a charity of their choice. For me, such sessions are not just about business or work; they are truly enjoyable and an opportunity for me to learn from others' experiences, making them reciprocal growth discussions and mutually beneficial experiences. On top of that, Intelliscence and Vaival Technologies have formed a partnership, and we're already seeing promising results. I’ll be sharing more details on this partnership after Q3 closes with some exciting outcomes! With all that said, currently, my consultation fee stands at a modest Rs.100 (around $0.36) per session. HOWEVER, given the value and results these sessions are delivering, I'm starting to wonder if it's time for a price adjustment. I mean, with all the insights shared, lessons learned, and mutual growth happening, maybe a 3x increase and take it to $1 per session isn’t too much to ask! :) Seems fair, right?
