I gave Devsinc's website a much-needed facelift! Their website, while functional, felt stuck in a time warp. It lacked the modern touch that their innovative services deserved. The new "Dark Mode" theme in Upwork is NOT technically Dark Mode!!! -Dark mode usually means a dark gray background with light text. It helps reduce eye strain and saves battery on OLED screens. -Upwork, however, uses a black background, which isn't the best choice for users. -Pure black can be harsh on the eyes and create high contrast, making text harder to read. In contrast, dark gray backgrounds are easier on the eyes and offer a better viewing experience. -True dark mode uses dark gray, not pure black. How I Earned Over $19,049 in last 12 months Without Any Freelancing Experience on Upwork In 2022, I went to my first job interview, where they asked me to create a website on wordpress with Figma. I completed the task in next few hours and then waited for their response. Despite sending multiple follow-up messages, I didn’t hear back. Eventually, they told me they needed someone with over five years of experience. Although I was surprised, I accepted their decision. When I started applying for other jobs, companies often asked to see my previous projects, so I shared my work. Then, they asked for my CV. I thought it was unnecessary because, as a developer and SEO expert, i do not have any experience in corporate life. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any responses, which left me feeling discouraged. I began doubting myself and felt like I had wasted my time. I even reached out to well-known freelancers in Pakistan for advice, but no one replied. At that point, I made a decision: I wouldn’t apply for company jobs anymore. Instead, I would focus on freelancing and work for myself. I learned how to use SEO using Ahrefs and Semrush tools and optimized several websites for my clients to gain much expertise, which people appreciated. I also developed WordPress and Shopify Website, but I still didn’t feel fulfilled. Afterward, I decided to try Upwork. But before diving in, I spent three days studying the platform, analyzing what clients were searching for in my field. I used those keywords to optimize my profile, making it easier for clients to find me. A tip I learned: Focus on a specific niche to increase your chances of getting jobs. Once my account was approved, I sent out my nine proposals, highlighting my past work. Within 1 or 2 days, I received a reply. The client discussed my work with me and hired me for the job, which paid $400. It seemed almost unbelievable, but it happened. One key lesson I learned: Don’t undercharge just because you’re new. Charge what you believe is fair, but always go above and beyond for your clients. Be available and build trust with them. After my second job, I didn’t need to send any more proposals; clients started inviting me to jobs instead. Since then, I haven’t sent a single proposal. I continue to receive job invitations because my profile is strong, I’m helpful, and I ignore the advice of so-called experts on YouTube. If you want to succeed, give it your all, take your time, and don’t just chase money. Continuously learn new skills and technologies. Remember, you can do it too. Don’t give up when things get tough.
