As a recruiter, I have come across alot of CVs and there are some mistakes on your CV can cost you a great opportunity! Here are some common errors to avoid: 1. Spelling and Grammar Mistakes: Typos and grammatical errors can make you appear careless. Always proofread your CV carefully or ask someone else to review it for you. 2. AI generated Cv : We all know how AI talks , We have all used AI before kindly plz take help from AI but don’t just copy paste everything. It shows and it seems very sloppy mistake on your part . Modify your Cvs accordingly it should indicate that you took some time out to write it not just copy pasting stuff 3. Avoid too much colors and graphics: Too much colors and graphics make it look childish and not formal. Your cv should look formal and presentable 4. Make it relevant: : Including irrelevant details can clutter your CV and distract from your qualifications. Tailor your CV to the job you're applying for. For example if you have experience in business development then apply for that job instead of applying for digital marketing or graphic designing . 5. Lack of Specifics: This is the most common mistake I have come across . People only mention the name of their previous work place or write vague statements like "responsible for various tasks" it’s not showcasing your skills. Write your role , the services you provided . Make your accomplishments stand out. This tells how much work you have done and how capable you are for that role 6. Not checking emails on time: Not checking your emails and not responding may lead you to lose the opportunity so kindly check your linkedin and mails everyday and respond promptly. Remember, your CV is your first impression on potential employers, so make sure it's error-free and highlights your strengths effectively! And the sooner you apply for the role the better chances you have to get selected.
