CaterpillHERs had the honor of participating in the EmpowerHer Digital Tech Summit 2024, organized by UN Women Pakistan and KOICA Pakistan. The event was a celebration of innovation and progress, bringing together incredible individuals working to bridge the digital gender divide and empower women in STEM and IT. At the summit, our program team set up a booth where we had the chance to connect with students from Multan, Lahore, Peshawar, Mardan, and Swabi. We introduced them to the programs we offer at CaterpillHERs, discussed how we’re advancing opportunities for women in tech, and engaged with the next generation of changemakers. It was inspiring to see so much enthusiasm and talent among these young women. Our Co-founder, Faiza Yousuf, also joined a panel discussion with Nadia Patel Gangjee and Erum Ahsan Ali, moderated by Fasieh Mehta. The conversation explored ways to enhance women’s participation in STEM and IT, what is being done by organisations serving on ground, and discussed ideas for building a more inclusive tech ecosystem. A huge thank you to Kapil Dev for inviting us to this impactful event and to Nadia Patel of FEMPROW for nominating us. Special thanks to the honorable guests—Mr. Jamshed M. Kazi (UN Country Representative), Ms. Jacqui Ketunuti (UN Deputy Country Representative), and Mr. Je Ho Yeon (KOICA Country Director)—for their continued support in championing women’s empowerment.
