What is Pirelli HangarBicocca?
Pirelli HangarBicocca is a non-profit foundation, established in 2004, which has converted a former industrial plant in Milan into a place for producing and promoting contemporary art.
Does Pirelli HangarBicocca have a permanent collection?
Pirelli HangarBicocca is not an institution that collects artworks, with the exception of its permanent installations: The Seven Heavenly Palaces (2004) by Anselm Kiefer and La Sequenza (1981) by Fausto Melotti.
What kind of exhibitions are on show at Pirelli HangarBicocca?
Pirelli HangarBicocca’s artistic program features solo shows by established and emerging international artists, who are invited to work in close collaboration with the curators to conceive shows that highlight lesser-known aspects of their practice, combining past projects with new pieces.
Pirelli HangarBicocca’s program is conceived by its Artistic Director together with the curatorial department. Do I need to buy a ticket?
Admission to the permanent installations and temporary exhibitions is free of charge.
When is Pirelli HangarBicocca open?
EXHIBITIONS AND PERMANENT INSTALLATIONS
Pirelli HangarBicocca’s permanent installations and temporary shows are open to the public from Thursday to Sunday, from 10.30AM to 8.30PM (last admission at 7.30PM).
Any special openings or closings are noted on the homepage and on the website calendar, as well as on our social media accounts.
BOOKSHOP
The Bookshop is open from Thursday to Sunday, from 10.30AM to 7.30PM.
BISTROT
The Bistrot is open from Monday to Wednesday, from 11AM to 3PM; from Thursday to Sunday, from 10.30AM to 10.30PM.
What time is last entry to the exhibitions?
The exhibition space is open until 8.30PM. Admission to the exhibitions ends at 7.30PM.
How long does it take to visit the exhibitions?
Although the time you will want to spend on the premises and visiting the shows is subjective, and will unquestionably depend on the type of exhibition, given the dimensions of the space (15,000 square meters) we suggest calculating an average of 45 minutes for each show.
Do I need to book in advance?
Free online reservation is suggested and guarantees priority access in the selected time slot to the permanent installation and to current temporary exhibitions.
Booking on site is allowed depending on availability, but waiting might occur in order to guarantee priority to online reservations. Members have priority access even without reservation.

How do I get to Pirelli HangarBicocca?

Does Pirelli HangarBicocca have a parking lot with an attendant?
There is no parking lot on the Pirelli HangarBicocca premises, but nearby, along Via Chiese, there are several unattended parking lots that can also accommodate coaches.
Are there any architectural barriers?
Our public venues and exhibition spaces are free of architectural barriers and are accessible to visitors with impaired mobility. We do invite visitors to check the regulations for individual shows, in case the nature of the works on view imposes any restrictions. Visitors can ask the Info Point staff at the entrance for a wheelchair and/or folding chair to use in the exhibition spaces.
Are strollers and/or prams allowed inside?
Strollers and prams can be brought into the space, except when special restrictions apply due to the nature of the works on view. There is also a changing table on the premises.
Are dogs and other pets allowed inside?
Dogs and other pets are not allowed to enter the communal areas or galleries.
Can I take photos and/or videos?
Photos and/or videos of the Pirelli HangarBicocca space and the works on view may be taken, when not otherwise indicated, for personal, non-commercial use only, following the guidelines laid out in our official policy. Visitors are invited to review these rules and contact the foundation if they have any special requests.
Is there a restaurant at Pirelli HangarBicocca?
The Bistrot is located inside Pirelli HangarBicocca, just off the lobby.
Can I book a table at the Bistrot?

Can food and/or beverages be consumed outside of the Bistrot?
Food and/or beverages may not be consumed inside the exhibition area unless otherwise indicated.
Is there a cloakroom?
A locker area is available.
Is there a reading room?
The Reading Room is temporarily closed to the public.
Is there a bookshop?
There is a Bookshop where visitors can purchase Pirelli HangarBicocca publications, limited editions by the featured artists, as well as a wide range of monographs, essays, art catalogues, and branded merchandise.
All purchases support Pirelli HangarBicocca programming and activities.
Is there a membership program?
The Pirelli HangarBicocca Membership program is designed for visitors who want to play a front-and-center role in the life of the institution. Becoming a Member gives you access to targeted activities, events, exhibition previews, and special discounts. For more information please visit the dedicated page.
Is there a Wi-Fi network available on the premises?
There is a free Wi-Fi network at Pirelli HangarBicocca.
Can the Pirelli HangarBicocca spaces be rented for private events?
