A new Wawa superstore will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Warrington on December 20. The grand opening will have a hoagie competition.

Wawa is set to open its newest location in Warrington, reports Jeff Warner for the Patch.

The new convenience store will open on December 20 at the intersection of 611 and Street road, just in time for Christmas. The superstore replaces the former 3,200-square-foot store with a considerably larger footprint. The new Wawa boasts 5,585 square feet and will have a six-pump gas station under a new canopy.

Wawa adds its wide selection of groceries, made-to-order menu items, tobacco products, specialty drinks, candy and snacks to an already busy intersection. Commuters rejoice.

Along with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, the grand opening will have a hoagie-building competition among local emergency responders. They will also offer complimentary coffee all day.

Customers can also enjoy Wawa’s built-to-order hoagies and Sizzlis breakfast sandwiches.

The new Warrington store is part of Wawa’s larger, ongoing expansion plans. The company plans to open 90 new stores in the next decade. Another location is currently under construction along the Newtown Bypass in Bucks County.
