Client: "My PPC Campaigns are consistently going Out Of Budget. And I don't know why." If that's the same thing happening with you Then this post is for you. You may start the month with incredible sales, ACOS under the target, ROAS improving. And then all of a sudden your campaigns go Out Of Budget (OOB). Resulting in wasted time, wasted ad spend, and wasted performance. Campaigns not performing optimally and starting to give average results. But once you know the cause then you can easily prevent going OOB. Here are the cases when it comes to going Out of Budget. Knowing these can help you identify your exact situation And manage the OOB thing pretty easily. 1. ROAS/ACOS within Target: In this case, if your goal is to grow top-line revenue/sales,  Try increasing the budget for the campaigns gradually on a daily basis... Track the performance daily and keep increasing the budgets until the campaign stabilizes. 2. Ad Spend a bit high:    If your campaigns are hitting the target ACOS But you want to improve the efficiency of your ad spend  Decrease your bids by 5-10% to reduce the CPC Don’t make more change than this otherwise, it might ruin your campaign performance. 3. Bleeding Money with OOB: If your campaign is OOB and you are bleeding money,  Reduce the budget of those campaigns and lower the bids. Let it run and track the performance. If it improves or stays the same then start scaling  If the performance decreases then simply pause. You know the 80/20 Rule, right? Here’s how I apply it to Amazon PPC: 👇 20% of your keywords generate 80% of your sales. These are the keywords you should focus on! By doing so, you can boost your overall sales and maximize your sales potential. Increasing ACOS for them raises the overall ACOS, while optimizing them lowers it. It’s the same for the market: 20-30% of sellers capture 80% of the market share on the first page of search results. You need to be at the top of the first page to capture a good market share. I often use the 80/20 Rule when optimizing campaigns. When I onboard a new client, and the goal is to lower ACOS within the first month. Here’s how I do it: - I start by filtering for campaigns with the highest spend. - Then I find the keywords in those campaigns with very high spend. You’ll discover that 15-30 keywords drive the majority of sales—even for big brands. And they have the most spend. Focusing on them not only brings down ACOS but also boosts the sales. We gradually reduce bids on these keywords to achieve our targeted CPA. •Negated ad spending on ineffective keywords. •Structured campaigns and ad groups by match type and Branded vs Non-Branded •Increased the budget towards profitable ASIN targeting, focusing on high-converting ASINs. •Applied horizontal and vertical funneling to best-performing keywords after monitoring performance. Targeted high-density keywords as Phrase & Broad match types. ➡ Using our internal audit sheets, we study the performance of our ads against each ad type, match type, and placement type. We analyze how much percentage of spend we allocate to a certain variable (e.g., phrase) and the percentage of sales we generate from it, along with CPA, CPC, and CVR. Now, let's break down the different types of campaign goals and pinpoint the key KPIs you should be tracking for each one. 1. Product Launch The goal during a product launch is to generate strong initial traction, particularly during the honeymoon period, and to get indexed for as many relevant keywords as possible. Key KPIs to Measure: Clicks, Sales Velocity 2. Ranking Push Ranking factors can vary significantly by category, but three crucial metrics to closely monitor at the keyword level are CVR, CTR, and Sales Velocity. Additionally, it's essential to keep a close eye on keyword rank changes to understand the effectiveness of your strategy. 3. Profitability The goal here is to maximize sales while minimizing advertising spend, ensuring that each dollar spent contributes effectively to your bottom line.
