Wiz Khalifa has been indicted by authorities in Romania after he lit a joint and smoked onstage during a music festival appearance in July.

The rapper, 37, was arrested and charged with illegal drug possession by the Romanian anti-organized crime prosecutors organization DIICOT on July 14 after he smoked while performing at the Beach, Please! music festival in Costinești, Romania on July 13.

A press release shared by DIICOT on Monday, Oct. 21 said Khalifa was indicted on Oct. 15 “for committing the crime of possession of dangerous drugs, without the right, with a view to consumption [of his] own,” according to a translation.

The release said the star had 18.53 grams of cannabis on him, as well as a cannabis cigarette, and his case was submitted to the Contstanta Court. Authorities said Khalifa’s criminal investigation has been completed, and his indictment has been sent “to court for trial.”

When he was arrested in July, the rapper (né Cameron Thomaz) issued a statement, saying he meant no harm by smoking onstage, and wouldn’t do it again. The use of recreational cannabis is illegal in Romania.

“Last nights show was amazing. I didn’t mean any disrespect to the country of Romania by lighting up on stage. They were very respectful and let me go. I’ll be back soon. But without a big ass joint next time,” Khalifa wrote.

A rep for Khalifa did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

The “Black and Yellow” rapper, who welcomed daughter Kaydence in July with girlfriend Aimee Aguilar, talks frequently about smoking in his song lyrics. Earlier this year, he even joked that he’d been high at a recent parent-teacher conference at his son’s school, telling Call Her Daddy podcast host Alex Cooper that teachers “expect it” from him.

"Hell yeah. I'm pulling up stoned. They expect it," he said. "They know what's up. It's not like back in the day [where] you're considered a bad parent if you smoke weed. I'm pretty sure my son smells like weed. I don't know because I can't smell it but I'm pretty sure he smells like pot."
